SamKidney
Not doing anything wrong really. Everyone gaps with different methods, even if the differences are small. How long have you been riding? Gaps come with practice, being able to preload more, explosive release out of the preload, pinching off the corner of your takeoff.... You'll probably find that If you keep at it, your distance will increase with pracitce. Maybe try taking off at an angle. Doing this will mean that you can throw your body further forward on take off, giving you that tad more umph to get across. Your doing well! Just practice and patience
Lewis Gething
Not very much wrong with your technique really, as said by Sam above you could try to take off at an angle - strafe gap. Try to pull your bars up as much as possible on the preload, before dropping them again as you tuck back down into the edge of the object. Try not to force the bike forwards, just let the bounce do most of the work

lexen94
Try to bend your knees more like this, and put your front wheel further down and your hips even longer behind.

ChrisTrials2012
It all in the body, the bike is simply a conduit. Explosive movements are the key. Use your hips so your body weight is thrown first then throw the bike in front to absorb the impact.
