brad1995
Hi, i have a spare ENO Trials freewheel that i decided i would take apart and service and i was just wondering if anyone knows what order the pawls go in because there are 3 long ones and 3 short ones and i didn't check how they were before i went and pulled them suckers out of there . Thanks, Brad.
CalopS
I'm guessing that as long as you put them back in short long short long short long then it wont matter which pawl hole you start at. I could be wrong though. It's been a while since I opened up my own eno as it's on my spare bike.
brad1995
Thats the way i have put them in, but i was thinking that if i put them one short then one long, 3 engage at a time and it will be offset so it will be all the long engaging then all the shorts :/
SamKidney
I think is the right way. Wouldnt short long short long mean it engages quicker? I.e: After engaging with the long pawl, the shorter pawl that follows alows the ratchet to engage in half the distance it would have taken for another long pawl to engage. While the short pawls are engaged, the ratchet point would be seated ontop of the long pawls mid way, so that it would again only take up half the length of the long pawl to engage after freewheeling. I think thats how it works, if it makes sense. Its much clearer in my head :')
Martin Reynolds
Thats the way i have put them in, but i was thinking that if i put them one short then one long, 3 engage at a time and it will be offset so it will be all the long engaging then all the shorts :/ This is correct, it's what effectively doubles you amount of engagement points
