dann2707
Computer gurus please help. I have been given a PS2 but my monitor won't accept anything but DVI and VGA connections and the Ps2 only has the RCA output. My graphics card has 2 DVI inputs aswell as an S-video input, Is there any chance I could use a standard RCA to S-video converter and plug that into a graphics card and it will pick up the signal? Or is the S-video on a grahpics card for outputting stuff and not recieving ? Well confused. Cheers
ZeroMatt
Nope, all the ports on the card are outputs. What you need is a composite to VGA converter. The leads that claim to do the same are horrific. Edited June 9, 2012 by ZeroMatt
weirdoku
PS2 VGA cables do exists though they are rare I believe, they came with the PS2 Linux kit if I remember right and only progressive scan games work through that cable (correct me if I'm wrong here). I'm pretty sure you can make your own cable if you searched the internet for the instructions. VGA cables for consoles don't seem to be cheap! I got a VGA cable for my dreamcast when they were more available and only paid about £12, now they go for £30 ish on ebay! Just look on ebay, there's one legit VGA cable for the PS2 but it's with the above mentioned Linux kit going at £300 at the moment haha. TROYston
Why not just use emulators dude? I have ps1, n64, ps2, dreamcast and gamecube ones. Saves buying anything anyway, i can use the ps1 disks in my pc , not too sure on any others though. Oh, and i couldn't put the N64 cartridge into my computer .
