lukeanderson31
basically, i bought an echo pure 2012 off my friend and built it up with bits i had in shed. running a hs33 on rear with onza citrus pads on a mavic ex721 rim with light grind. but i think my rims too narrow as it doesnt really have the hold id hoped for. now the question is, are there any uber thick brake pads out there? or another way to move the brake inwards so that i dont have to get a new rim and get it rebuilt? many thanks luke
mad-dog
off set brake mounts would sort problem out http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/brake_clamps/tensile_offset_magura_mounts/c74p10030.html Cheers Edited May 26, 2012 by mad-dog
narrowbars
Those mounts are for people who's rim is too wide and can't get the pads far enough away. Genuine coust pads are 10mm so could help a little but ideally your only proper solution is a wider trials rims.
SamKidney
Those mounts are for people who's rim is too wide and can't get the pads far enough away. nope, they work eitherway. Infact they came supplied on the complete Onzas (Blade and Comp) set to move the pads closer as they use fairly narrow rims. The offset mounts would definately help
BradJohnson
off set brake mounts would sort problem out http://www.tartybike.../c74p10030.html Cheers Offset mounts wouldn't do the job because the slave still only pushed until it stops at the mount i had the same problem.

The offset mounts would definately help have them, too.it looks like they shift the slaves 3 mm in each side.turned to the outside theres about 8 mm edit:but it works on a marino with 90 mm mount spacing and a rhyno lite.if that helps Edited May 26, 2012 by FamilyBiker
BradJohnson
What you could do is over fill the brake, so the pistons stick out.

lukeanderson31
I used to have rhyno lites and they worked the same Im also already using offset mounts. They do nothing to move the brakes inwards whatsoever May have to bite the bullet and get a new rim
