BradJohnson
Right so.. I haven't rode in like 2 weeks so my bike had been stuck in the garage. I was out riding earlier today and my rear brake felt a little crappy, as in it wasn't holding like i used to. One of my 'mates' thought it was a bright idea to pour Rockstar energy drink on it! My brake started holding like hell then All of a sudden my brake locked up slightly then the lever pulled all the way to the bars and the brake didn't work at all, it felt like the brake had popped/leaked all the fluid out, so i checked it over and couldn't feel or see any fluid anywhere. What could have happened. Thanks for any advice. Problem Solved. Edited May 26, 2012 by bradjohnson
Alex Dark
Has the TPA stripped it's thread ( unlikely but possible ) Undo the TPA all the way out ( not so the dust seal goes past the chamfered lip ) when you now squeeze the lever, do the pads move instantaneously or is there a dead bit of lever travel before the pads start moving? kevind
We had the same endless problems with Aarons echo with seals leaking and backing coming of pads. Solved the problem by buying a Hope. It has been on his bike for several comps and hours of practice and it just works perfect.
konstant
I think Deng was a bit ambitious with the TR disc. Mine seems to leak at both the master (now fixed) AND slave, which means that my pads self-contaminate. It's light, looks nice and has acceptable power with Hope pads, but is easily the most annoying brake I've owned. Give the hope trial pads a try - I'd be surprised if you manage to break those. BradJohnson
I run the hope pro pads on the front, at the moment im using a borrowed Magura on the rear, im thinking of just selling the disc and buying a Magura. Don't get me wrong i like the Echo Tr to be honest, its not leaking and I've put some more pads in it so its in working order, i just find the Maggie easier to maintain.
