Andeee
If your looking at going into radio you need a good knowledge on music technology. Me for example. I did 3 years b-tech national diploma in music performance as i play drums. Once i finished that course i wanted to expand my studies and knowledge on music and decided to go on a B.A hons degree course in music technology ( just finished year 2) So if your looking at going producing id advise at looking more into the details of sound recording/live sound as bits n bobs from two different areas can soon tot up to what you'd be doing in the studio. A degree looks a lot more professional for going into radio. Plus in producing you can take additional courses that relate to softwares. I have my Logic pro 101 and 301 certified qualification. ( Maybe one day i might try and expand it and go higher) I have a Pro Tools 110 qualification. I have experience of working in studios now for the past 5 years and i have recorded many artists n bands. I recently did a recorded cover of a strokes song for my recording module where i recorded me doing the drums and had a friend do all the guitar, bass n vocal parts separately as in separate recording sessions as it made it easier. I even mixed and mastered my track to a near industry standard which i am quite proud of i also did a lot of research for it for my recording techniques for referencing for why i did it. Sorry if i have waffled on i get carried away when i talk about my main hobby being music tech. I even have my own studio at home where i have a control room and a live room. 2x drum kits, 10 input interface, a mix selection of mics and a pair of active monitors. So id look at going into a college or univeristy course depending on your current qualifications that you have. Andy
