Jolfa
A lot of my cars have come from opposite ends of the country, if they're too far/I'm too lazy, I just get them delivered

Pashley26
Going to look at a 205 GTI tomorrow, straight swap for the BM. No pics but the advert looks promising. http://www.swapz.co.uk/swapz/2991245/pug_205_gti_1_6/

Pashley26
Please don't drive this one like a twat, else we all know how this ends... Depends if I get it or not. My last one was so good I think it will struggle to be awesome sauce. We'll see. Either way, I want it lol Edited September 5, 2012 by Pashley26
Prawny Baby
engines too small, and it doesn't have enough valves. plus no pictures, it'll probably be a right old dog. I'd find it hard to get excited about
MadManMike
I was looking on eBay mainly, buy it now prices were all around £2,200 to £2,500 - that was for pre-facelift ones. Mine came from Yorkshire and I live on the south coast so not a local buy!

Pashley26
Nice Mk1, tidy. It wasn't from the South West was it? I'm sure I've seen that before. - The 205 I went to look at is immaculate; 100% totally original looking and mint. Bad news; it was a Cat C in 2009. The current owner didn't know this, and when I HPI'd the car and told him he was pretty shocked to be fair. Immediately backed out of the deal and said he was very sorry and did I want any fuel money for going out there etc etc. I let him bubble for a bit and countered his straight swap offer with £500 my way and the 205 for my BM. I'd be happy if I could get £250 my way. The current owner phoned the previous owner and says that the vehicle was broken into and the door frame bent back; the car was taken off the road and restored and then returned to the road in 2010 which is why there is a gap on the MOT history. What are your thoughts on my potential Cat C swap? I don't really see the problem myself; I'd rather something which was declared to the insurance; fixed, half heatedly checked and signed off than something with no history at all or things to hide. (like my last 205 which was clocked; but incidentally owed my less than £500 after Mowgli and I manned up.) Although I'm feeling a twinge of regret, the BM has been SO good and it's a really great car. It's begging to stay and just be loved; I really don't want to see it go. But sensibly speaking I am being offered something of much greater value with cash my way which will be 100% easier to sell and is a rapidly appreciating classic. Don't know what to do :/ I think that if I don't get the deal I want on the 205 I'll just take my advert for the BM down and properly deck it and run it for a while longer. It looked great last night at my local meet. Edited September 6, 2012 by Pashley26
george_seamons
If he gave you £500 AND the 205, he'd be a moron, haha! Looks tidy from the picture. Thought you wanted sideways action though? To be fair, if you get any money at all plus the car, surely its a financial winner? The 205 must be 100x more fun to drive? As a side note; who is going to Coombe on Saturday? Pretty sure I'm up for the journey now (dependant on how the track day this evening goes, haha!) george_seamons
Yeah, but I'm not booked on. Its an evening session, and I won't get there til about 5:45. Briefing is at 4:30, and its MSV, who are a bunch of miserable twats so probably won't let me on! Plus I'm not doing it for full price if I'm losing out on over an hours track time! Have to try my bartering hat again haha!I'm only really going to show a mate who's there today doing a novice day what stage 2 feels like. ...but we all know what I'm like with peer pressure!
Pashley26
lol Seamons, it isn't your mate Alex is it?
george_seamons
It is. But not THAT Alex, haha. Last trackday he went to, he didn't torque his wheel nuts up, and on the way home his wheel fell off on a main road. Bloody tool! This Alex has a stage 1 S3. Pashley26
Properly lol. Did you see the state of his FMIC? It looks like it had been glued together by Joey Deacon in a Blue Peter project! What is he doing to that poor RS of his? It looks like it's just getting shagged? - lol, 205 GTI is looking more and more likely. I've agreed £300 my way and a years MOT; should be picking it up on Sunday if it passes MOT tomorrow. haydon_peter
Make sure you're insurance policy covers a Cat C vehicle, I wouldn't want any small print to screw you over when if you hit another curb while you're driving like a chav.
george_seamons
He's pretty much just driving it I think. As long as he doesn't turn it into what his A3 was, its ok! That thing was a disgrace. Tic, are you still going Saturday? Jardo, are you? I presume Nick is. Who else? Mrs Jardo?
haydon_peter
Yes I plan to be there! Other people as far as I know are Prawn, Andy P, Pierre and YOU. I expect Jardo is working? It will be good to see you again
Pashley26
Yeah I'm working which sucks an almighty great donkey dick. Lou probably won't go, we're both skint. Not only that she'd only get the hump, go on track and smash you all in her A3 and spend yet more money she hasn't got. I swear that bitch could smash Tarty the way she drives; she just needs to man up a bit. She came home from work the other day like 45mins late; now I keep her on a tight leash as you know so I interrogated her. Turns out some chav in a Saxo VTR tried to race her so she followed them in the opposite direction for over 30 miles just so she could constantly dick them and then allow them to overtake so she could dick them all over again when they tried to get past. f**king mentalist; I drive like such a girl these days yet she drives like a frickin' hero. george_seamons
Hahaha, Lou is a hero! Lol, Tic, I think the last time I saw you I still had my 306! How times have changed I hope those bacon and brie garlic baguettes are there again. Those things EASILY made the 4 hour journey worth it!
