MadManMike
Sorry Wrayvon If I buy a can of primer, is this lot enough for 5 15" wheels? And has anyone used it? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/GTpro-WRX-Gold-and-Lacquer-Car-Alloy-Wheel-Spray-Paint-4-Cans-Total-/251779306641?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item3a9f375491

That would depend how many coats you want to do. I just did 5 wheels (16"), granted I rushed them but I think I used 1 big can of primer, 4 cans of paint and 2 big cans of laquer. Not sure on ml though.
MadManMike
How many coats did that amount get you? I'm not sure what a good amount is really, quite a few coats I would imagine to protect against stone chips...
Wrayvon
I think I did about 2 primer, 3/4 coats of pain, 2/3 lacquer. But like I say, I wasn't doing it very carefully. If I were to do it again, I'd definitely spend more time prepping. I didn't sand down my filler enough so its lumpy as fook (thankfully all on the inside as that's where the corrosion was). craigjames
Just spent a painful amount of money on bits from Audi to fit the suspension and brakes to the A3 next week. It physically hurt Although it does mean I should have a considerably better handling and braking car. Edit: horrible thought that LCR Brembos won't fit under my wheels without spacers
Luke Rainbird
I have some spacers somewhere, remind me to take a look over the weekend and I'll see if I can dig them out. From memory I have some 5mm generic nasty ones and some 15mm proper hubcentric things though not sure what bolts are about. Shall let you know what I find and you're more than welcome to anything that's there

Barry Ryan's MK2 Escort hill climbs are unreal. Superb watch, makes me want a MK2 escort so much more
Pete.M
makes me want a MK2 escort so much more I was going to boast about currently working on one but actually it's just a shell right now so there's absolutely nothing to boast about Hopefully have it finished by end of July, ready for a nurburgring trip. Probably won't happen. A middle-aged/slightly old woman complimented my Volvo today. YES! Still trying to stop it using more oil than fuel though. george_seamons
Today I fitted a Revo intake and Loba HPFP (high pressure fuel pump, mechanicaly driven off the inlet cam on the TFSI engine): Changed the rear lights from the stock pre-facelift lights: To the most recent second facelift (2011 onwards) lights: Not a difficult or big mod, but really modernises the back end I also fitted LED lights to every interior lamp, number plate, DRL's, and fitted footwell and puddle lights (which were an option called "Lighting Pack". Also changed the front indicator bulbs from the standard orange bulbs: To chrome coated bulbs which flash orange. Gets rid of the "fried egg" look, and makes the lights look a bit cleaner: Fitted the new headunit, which went from this (standard "Concert" unit). Pretty dull to look at, but the sound quality was immense, literally never heard anything like it, and that's having spent ££££'s on stereo stuff before: New unit comes in the higher end models (RS3, RS4 etc), and was a £2000 option on the S3. It has sat nav, Bluetooth phone, 2x media card slots, and a 6 cd changer. Think it makes the interior look far far better: Not exactly mountain-moving mods, but it's a good start

george_seamons
Bet that head unit wasn't cheap George. Paid £400, which isn't overly cheap, but compared to the Android type units which are a similar kind of price, this one just "goes" and looks like it belongs rather than being obviously aftermarket, which I think makes it worth the extra few quid. Danny
That's pretty reasonable actually. I expected nearly double that.
