MartMini
Semi - eventful day on the car. Replaced the coilovers on the front to see if they were the cause of some knocking; they wernt :L Had this idea at the scrap yard, quick and easy way to do shock bolts: lowering springs on g86 shocks: ride height was slightly higher than before, but doesnt look too far out: started stripping down my spare hubs ready for my 312mm brake upgrade, one way to remove rounded off bolts: and it works! next f**k up! using a drill to clean threads, snapped a tap bit
dann2707
Today I gave the car some TLCCCCCCCCCCCCCC! After changing the gearbox oil a few weeks ago, it started to leak. Well it has always leaked throughout my ownership from the gearbox selector seal. IMAG0134 by dann2707, on Flickr I then started fitting it today, it wasn't a pain really. I expected it to be much worse but after watching the youtube video guide it made things really clear. The main bit I struggled with was fitting the new seal and o-rings. As it's a split design it doesn't evenly go into the gearbox, you really have to make sure you're putting equal pressure on it whilst pushing it on. It's a f**king tight fit when it goes in and I was a little worried I was going to snap it and be left without both seals. All sorted though in the end Just a pic to show the seal that's replaced, you have to cut that f**ker off and when I say f**ker I genuinely mean an absolute b*****d. It's not just plastic it's metal too IMAG0138 by dann2707, on Flickr This is it dropped down ready to be cut IMAG0139 by dann2707, on Flickr All on and cleaned IMAG0137 by dann2707, on Flickr I then repalced the gearbox oil and engine oil and filter. I also fitted a ramair panel filter the other day as my standard filter was a state. This was only £20 on eBay. Not sure if it's made any difference but it's good to know that the car has been fully serviced now. IMAG0133 by dann2707, on Flickr Random wheely shot IMAG0136 by dann2707, on Flickr I also tightened my topmounts up or attempted to (PMS solid mounts, still loose though , think the bearing has gone in them both maybe??) and I slipped with the spanner. I've put a horrible scratch in my wing Really really annoyed at myself for that.
TrialsIsHard
No pics of the scratch? I guess after your curbing incident that's relatively minor
Jolfa
quick and easy way to do shock bolts: You know that's why spark plug sockets have flats on them for a spanner though, right?
MartMini
You know that's why spark plug sockets have flats on them for a spanner though, right? thought spark plug sockets wern't 19mm? either way, my socket set doesnt have spark plug sockets in it

Pashley26
Went out for breakfast, my mate Greg came along in his Lambo. It upset me hugely, because no matter how fast I drove he was always there. 2m off my bumper. There were loads of bikers. Ash, Prawn, Andy, Greg and I were the only cars there. Apart from this Anglia. Which had a red top in it. I want more boost.

MadManMike
f**k MX-5 rear calipers. Helped a mate out today who was upgrading to the 1.8 sport brakes from the standard 1.6's. Fronts were done easy, the rears, guess what - seized. 'Cos that never happens. It's not even like they're that old, he had new ones two years ago and they're f**ked already. Jolfa
No, get an S14, they just look better than the 14a, bit in love with them at the minute, so many high power Jap imports absolutely everywhere here! ...Mostly driven by youngsters because insurance isn't mandatory, it's part of road tax
