Nah, sold it.

Dropped it off last Saturday to the mapping place. Got a phone call on the Monday saying there were issues, and it just wasn't flowing right. Apparently the bigger inlet/throttle body and different turbo intake pipe routing had a massive negative effect. Needed £300+ spent on parts, plus the map...so £800+. Just couldn't justify it anymore, so the batten has been passed to the new owner to take it over and give it the love it deserves.

As amazingly quick and brilliant handling, braking etc that it was; it was only those things when you were flat out on track, or on a big time hoon on a back road. Trundling along through a town, or at a constant speed on a motorway, it was loud, uncomfortable, obnoxious and just generally not a pleasant place to be.

I am going to look at an Audi S3 8P, which has the same turbo, but with an extra 0.2 litres displacement, 4 wheel drive, and won't make me look like a total willy driving along a residential road :)

Should be a happy 370bhp 370ftlb at Stage 2+, and still has room for friends in the back, has sat nav, heated leather seats etc etc. Time to grow up a little!

Very much not going to end the same way as the Leon!!!

Specifically spending extra money for an exhaust which has a boost actuated butterfly valve which makes it very quiet off boost, and only marginally louder on boost. The exhaust on the LCR was SO loud, it actually hurt at 3-4k, it resonated THAT much. Hateful thing!!!

I categorically will not be removing the seats, that I can say with utmost certainty. The Leon was a throwaway car to me. I had my fun with it, and it was never worth *that* much, so didn't feel bad ruining it. The S3 is advertised at £12k, so is much more of a "keeper".

...that's not to say I won't be modifying it though. I will, but it will be considerably more "classily" done.

It's all good - dad had the clamps kicking about in the garage so I nabbed them but if they're that bad I'll put in an order for some JCSs instead :)

Edit: The bits I got directly from ASH arrived in just over 24 hours. They didn't have any reducers in stock so it's another seller that's holding things up.

Whacked my Dansk stainless exhaust back on as I was told to take the day off and I wanted something to do. Oh my dayzzzzz I have missed that exhaust sound! I think I am going to chop the front springs another coil and get some shorter inserts (golf) when my new top mounts arrive then adjust the eccentric bolts on the back to suit so I can have some summer giggles, I have spare springs in the garage anyway so if I don't like it I can revert back to stock.

Now to wire in a hot start switch so I can get the 5th injector to engage and not have to crank the car for a minute when it's warm...

What's the most owners any of your cars has ever had?

Just wondered really as I just remembered one of my brothers previous cars had 12 and it was less than 10 years old at the time.... it was unreliable though.

Who can win the most compared to the age of it?
