dann2707
If it's been 18 months already I think it's safe to say it's going to stay like that ultimately
waybe2014
Do you guys not drive with the attitude that "virtually everyone else is a retard and should be treated as such" then? Seriously, just accept that most people on the roads are idiots and drive accordingly by pre-empting this sort of shit. This was the second thing I was told when I did my cbt. The first being at some point you will crash and to leave if you weren't prepared to accept that fact.
forteh
Defensive driving, learning to ride a motorbike before learning to drive is an excellent way of reinforcing the idea. Mandatory bike training before sitting behind the wheel of a car would be a good idea, teaches you so much more about observations and the little things that will kill you if you're not careful
Jake.
to be honest I think I'm actually a pretty good driver, before I drove I cycled everywhere for 5 years... I've known all the road rules and seen perspectives from a bikers POV too so when I drive I'm always thinking where a biker could be, usually I tend to think "be careful a fanny like you could be riding/driving past in a sec" and that makes me spend an extra few secs pulling out haha. And I've done a lot of long distance driving round England and in foreign countries too... So for a 19 year old I'd like to say I'm fairly experienced haha
AdamR28
I need a new project so - Nick, I think I might try and emulate you in a slightly different way Been offered an MX-5 for £500... Stan needs a roof for his, so that's £100 back, all the interior and any 'surplus' items will go, probably a couple of hundred quid's worth. Then chop every last little bit of metal out of the car to get it as light as poss, chuck in a steering wheel / boss, half cage, harnesses and shocks I already have, find some GRP seats, 13" wheels and cheap slicks (smaller rolling radius), give it a full service and spank the shit out of it. Oh, and remove the windscreen and whack some ridiculous aero stuff on it: Et voila, a supercar killer for under a grand

Danny
Or drive the westie instead?
AdamR28
My race car is about 868kg, that's with a 46kg cage in it, full dash, no lightened body panels and 15" wheels - so 850 should be fairly easy I think, yeah...Westie is expensive to run (comparatively), and I feel bad spanking it non stop on a track day And I want a project... MadManMike
Adam - let me know if it has 15" wheels in half decent condition, I'll take them off you if they're not heavy.

JDâ„¢
I f**king love your car Prawn. Not so much because it's great to look at, or because it's a car I'd love to have. Mainly I think the allure is both that it shouldn't be as quick as it is, and so much of it has been done in a great DIY fashion. I lurk your thread on t'other forum (not even sure which, it's bookmarked) just to get more in depth stuff between your updates here.
Prawny Baby
Cheers Jason much appreciated mate. It makes me happy and seems to go better than people expect, which is always a bit of fun. It does the job for a wrong wheel drive hatch back with building materials stuck to it

Azarathal
Went for a random hoon, started in crowthorne then through sandhurst, yately and somehow ended up in fleet, followed a mk2 golf for ages thinking it was Jardo (I think he lives nearish to fleet?) and then back home taking random roads until I knew where the f**k I was, reverting back to the v6 vs turbo debate, random drives like this make me want more low down torque as opposed to brapbrap
