Wish I could find one for that price! Should have napped up George's a couple of months back but didn't think I'd be getting around to that for ages - how wrong I was.

Today was PCV simplification day for the Leon. Unfortunately due to abysmal weather and hose clips being an utter nuisance it took me far longer to get this done than it should have so I didn't actually get around to what I was hoping to achieve today - the simple task of fitting the rear ARB.

Off with the front trim for access to all the crap beneath.

Started pulling hoses off - all nice and gunky full of shite:

Snapped a hose:

Which wasn't necessarily a bad thing as it made it easier to pull out this lot:

With everything out, this went in place instead (well, after a slight reconfig of hose lengths to make it sit a little nicer):

Bunged up the now superflous connections on the TIP and under the inlet manifold:

Done.

Whilst I was doing the above, I intermittently also did things with sprays and newspaper.

Masked, primed, sprayed, done.

All back together and good to go. Haven't driven the car properly yet but it ran fine so I'm assuming I've not severed the brake servo lines or anything silly - if it doesn't try to kill me tonight I'll hopefully get a chance to finally throw on the rARB tomorrow

Cheers Ash. Top one is the cam cover breather second is the hose off the crankcase breather plastic 90* (Y)

The gunk is oily residue. Usually this is routed back through and into your TIP which is obviously not ideal and is why people fit catch cans.

Will be unplugging my MAF tomorrow - logs are maxing out around 180bhp and I've no idea why as eliminated 99% of boost leaks now so hoping it's an issue as simple as a faulty sensor or something. Any other suggestions, chaps?

I'm conscious that I am spending a disproportionate amount of money on the Mk2.

I'm also conscious that whilst I can pick up spanners and make things happen, I have all the finesse of a scouser raping a child whilst I do it.

So I'm upping my game and doing some fiddle which involves thought and skill.

I purchased some H1 bi-xenon projectors.

And I'm going to fashion them into the light shells of my Mk2.

Like this but not as shit.

Hopefully; new car style lighting in an old Mk2.

And it shouldn't cost me more than £25 and should take up lots of my time and teach me to be better at things.

They don't really fit at the moment...

I need a bit of advice ladies, chucking an engine together atm and its my first turbo build. Its going to need mapping when its done. Is there anyone in particular I should look out for to get a good job done?

If (based on your post a page or two ago) it's for the saab you mentioned, then have a look at noobtune, had mine done by him just before christmas and have been seriously impressed by him/ the map! And cheap too.

They look important.

Droplinks for the rARB. Hopefully got some I can bodge for a short-term fix but if I can track down some rose joints tomorrow (Plymouth sucks for hardware so I'm not getting my hopes up...) then it'd be an easy fix. Nothing too major, just a ballache and one more thing working against me.

It is. I think I need it on a rolling road to see what its putting out first though?

So the 5 slat grille turned up, although it was advertised as having no secondary lights, no lower panel, no badges but also no broken clips I was pleasantly surprised to unwrap it and find all the badges, the lower panel, the secondary lights and a new set of headlight adjusters.

You'll be getting positive feedback :)

So, as of the 27th of April 2015 my Micra will be dying a death.

11046823_10204081574747573_8978595443349

Car is too far gone and the location of some of the most corroded areas is actually slightly worrying..

Hunt for Micra No.2 is on! I've been impressed with how trouble free its been mechanically and how little fuel it uses that I'll be sourcing another to replace it.
A full car with MOT would be super but theres a few cheap non runners around and I know my engine is a healthy one... dealz to be had.
