Pashley26
Impressive. Shall we see who can hit 250 first My car's a bit like this.
Luke Rainbird
So the plan was to spend today giving the car a good going over with VCDS and doing some logging. Unfortunately the cable I received didn't work so no such luck there. Instead, the car got another wash as it's been horrendously muddy recently with the wet weather. 20 miles of lanes a day to and from work certainly doesn't help matters! Wet: Foam: Washed then rinsed: http://i1333.photobucket.com/albums/w633/lukerainbird/20150206_142431_zps2285886c.jpg Started to clay but picked up a load of tar/similar on the driver's wing so need to go over that properly. I stopped at this point for obvious reasons! Decided to try and sort out the horrendous swirls left in the paintwork through years of neglect. Wasn't looking too sharp to start with: Picked up a bottle of G3 Paint Restorer as it seems to get decent reviews (and more importantly was on offer!) Gave the bonnet a really quick going over - we're talking less than 10 minutes start to finish and all by hand. Pretty pleased with the results given this was just a quick test really. When I can get the rotary on it I'll have a proper go at sorting things out I think. 50:50 since that's what detailing people seem to do: Game of "guess where the Leon was"...
dann2707
that milestone. Your car is on way more mileage than I thought! I'm impressed though as it looks in great nick
MadManMike
Jardo - you'll definitely win, mine is in km, so only about 150(?)k miles.
Pashley26
Oh, I saw the MPH as the predominant speed and assumed it was in miles.
MartMini
Got a bit done to mine today. Tried fitting the pancake pipe i recieved, that was a massive fail Fitted a 2nd hand passenger arch lining, mine had a bit missing Also replaced the rear wiper motor as the washer leaked. it still leaks, but now only from where the hose connects to the motor, rarther than just everywhere.

MartMini
Like a 20mm difference in hose diameter?

Pashley26
If you say RARB, as in like barb but with an r instead of a b then it's one of the most satisfying words in the world. Second only to beazles. An in bees and measles. Beasles.
Luke Rainbird
Very satisfying indeed. Almost as much as having them on the car should be
Pashley26
You must have swapped the wrong b and said barr, as in the people who make cream soda. If you'd said it the right way then you'd know there was nothing better, and having them fitted to your car couldn't possibly compare.
MartMini
you better get pictures of the rear one when you fit it, its on my shopping list
Pashley26
Can we do a TF road trip soon?
Luke Rainbird
you better get pictures of the rear one when you fit it, its on my shopping list Currently looks like this: When fitted will look similar to this, though on short droplinks. Can we do a TF road trip soon? Get the Curby day squared away first, then we'll sort something out. The other option is to let me move to Gosport and there'll be a fair few of us close together to play
Pashley26
This is very true. If I'm honest, I just want to go and race people in my Golf. Hurry up and move down here, you can come live with me in the mean time.

MadManMike
I won't be trying to race you though Jardo, my car would be slower and even if better on corners, I never really push my luck
Luke Rainbird
Perhaps we need to find a UK race/event and use that as an excuse to get together a day or so either side for some food and drinks or similar. Would people be up for something along those lines?
