CurtisRider
Seat fitting time! The seats had been sitting in a damp shed for a while... sitting next to the woodburner and a good hoovering has done wonders! I will give them a proper clean once they are fitted. Seats side by side, the Porsche ones are overdue a refurb! New brackets being welded on, not much needed doing to make the Impreza seats mount to the Porsche mounting points Seat fitted to the passenger side, works as it should! The drivers side seat is pretty much ready to fit now, it's just the handbrake that is causing me troubles as it is hitting the seat rail... I have removed the mounting point to modify it so that the handbrake will go towards the door more, this will require me either losing the door bin or modifying it so my hand doesn't hit it, I don't use it so it may as well go... Jolfa
It has a blue aux socket, which I read was a CD changer socket... I was under the impression that green aux sockets were for audio? The big one to the right of the blue socket. The blue socket is for a wired remote control
David
I need some help, please! When I release the clutch pedal I can year a single clunk noise somewhere at the bottom of the engine bay on the passengers side. If I release the pedal slowly then its less noticeable. If the engine is off then there is no noise at all. I can reproduce the sound every time by pitting the car in neutral and pressing the clutch then releasing quickly. I can feel the clunk through the pedal. Searching the web seems to bring up this problem a lot but with no real answers! Anyone got any ideas on this? Could it be the clutch slave cylinder or DMF? The clunk appears to happen at around the biting point when releasing the pedal. Edited February 14, 2015 by David

Luke Rainbird
George/Prawn/Jardo: I assume that eBay/Chinese 3" LCR DP/decats are generally as pants as their price tag would suggest? I'm aware of the differences between LCR/S3/TT due to the quattro clearance etc but more in terms of general quality etc I'm assuming that they're not really worth bothering with? If that's the case I'll keen an eye out for a full turbo back setup from Cobra/Milltek or similar. Anyone got any ideas on this? Could it be the clutch slave cylinder or DMF?The clunk appears to happen at around the biting point when releasing the pedal. Clutch worn at all? Much dead pedal travel? Would sound like some form of contact obviously, but kinda hard to say from a clunk alone (over the internet at least!)

I dont know a whole lot about cars but mine makes a clunky sound from the back when I put it into gear while stationary

Well, I don't have the one to the right. I'll stick to ghetto setup then...

Luke Rainbird
Would do the trick. Assume you've measured up and there's plenty of overlap? Would offer to collect but for the sake of a tenner to get it done sooner at home it'd be foolish not to!Edit: That said, surely you can pick up a piece of 2mm plate for less than £40? Shame there are so many perfectly good roadsigns on sketchy mounts around the place...See also: George/Prawn/Jardo: I assume that eBay/Chinese 3" LCR DP/decats are generally as pants as their price tag would suggest? Pashley26
I did get your WhatsApp, then my phone died I'd be buying relentless DP myself, but what with you being FWD I'm not 100% sure for K04 fitment.
Luke Rainbird
Yeah that's the middle ground. £250 for a DP/sports cat (would rather have one for legal MOT goodness, perhaps fitted on flanges for reomoval the rest of the year) is halfway to a second hand turbo back system though really. Guess I'll just keep an eye out for a full Milltek/etc as there's no real rush. Given I get get a Chinese DP/decat for £120 delivered it's still tempting though
george_seamons
Relentless isn't a direct fit for an LCR (trust me on that...I had to modify it!). To be honest, the 3" Cobra turbo-back is hard to beat at £650. Shame you weren't ready for it a few weeks ago
Pashley26
I just bought some Spec 2's George, because you said they weren't shit. If they are, I'm driving to your house and setting fire to them on your doorstep.
george_seamons
I wouldn't buy them new, there's plenty of better tyres out there (and NS2R's are cheaper). However, if they were on a set of wheels, I wouldn't be pulling them off to change them.
CurtisRider
Mig ot tig? MIG, is there anything wrong with the weld then? They seem very secure! Seats are in now, they are sooooo comfy and huggy enough to keep you in place but also not super tight so that they are uncomfortable for longer journeys. Given I'm in no rush to do it I've got the luxury of sitting on it and just waiting to see if a bargain pops up I suppose. I assume you mean "not a direct fit" in that it's really for the 4wd quattro shiz so hangs low and all that jazz?
george_seamons
Indeed. It's easy to modify, but it's not a direct fit by any means.
