Pete.M
Nice Scirocco. Here's an interesting discussion. Those running extra boost or just heavy mods; do you use a "colder" spark plug than standard? If so, how many steps colder is it on the plug manufacturers scale? george_seamons
I use a 7 instead of a 6 in mine. 210bhp standard, 350bhp on the last turbo. Aiming for 370+ and have no intentions of changing plugs
Jolfa
Stock plugs were plenty up to the job with a 150bhp increase on the Audi.
AdamR28
Large power increase on my (N/A) engine (150 to 250), stock NGK plugs at £9 a set, winner.
Jake.
Yeah those little leak of pipes are very common, make sure you get some tubing that is fuel resistant! Sounds obvious but I've seen some totally unsuitable hose fitted New fuel pipes fitted all round now, nothing leaning from pipes. Looks like injector seals 2 and 4 and leaking. Easy fix? Also got a quote for claudia to be welded and it's 300 so I'm happy with that Just need to find sill parts now!
craigjames
Seal kits are cheap, swapping them out cant be too difficult. Do you need a special tool to remove them? Edited January 27, 2015 by craigjames

JDâ„¢
Quite rightly no interest to anyone else, but I just received these, and it makes me happy... Can't afford tyres, but other than that the wheels will be ready this weekend.

I'm confused, how do they work.
JDâ„¢
Push fit, the wheels are fakes unfortunately, so these are just to plug the holes. The last lot were plastic and had started looking really shit, so this lot should be better. The problem is that I've painted the lip of the rims in a silver as I couldn't polish the repairs I've done. Think these might be a bit shiny in comparison... Jake.
Seal kits are cheap, swapping them out cant be too difficult. Do you need a special tool to remove them? Checked it all again today and it turns out the new hoses solved it! thanks Sam. There was bubbling round seals but that was down to diesel from hoses having leaked onto it but seems to be ok now
Luke Rainbird
1.8t folks: Considering doing something with the PCV system but in all honesty I'm not sure whether or not I fancy buying a rather pricey catch can for minimal benefit. Does the system require a slight vacuum or is there enough positive pressure in the crank case to push all the nasty fumes/assorted other shit through and vent to atmosphere?
george_seamons
Just vent to atmosphere. I did it for years with no issues. It was only when I did a track day that I had issues with the oil coming up out of the pipe work...wouldn't happen on a road car though
Luke Rainbird
Ah sweet, cheers. I can always get a little creative with some hose routing to eliminate that, just wanted to make sure the shit would get out ok really.
george_seamons
Can have my old setup if you want it? Literally rip everything out and stick the pipes on. Got a 19mm bung for the TIP too. Pipe off the rocker and pipe off the crankcase enter a Y piece, which then goes to a single bit which drops by the gearbox. Oil resistant pipe, JCS Hi-Grip clamps...ooosch. £12 posted to you squire Can't buy it as cheap as that, plus it's all cut to size already...easy work

craigjames
I just bought an Ebaytastic catch Luke with 19mm fittings and got the oil resistant tubing off there cheapo too. Still have to fit it, but planning on venting to atmosphere.
Luke Rainbird
Collecting all the gunk to dispose of at a later date sounds like a lot of work when you could just be MARPOL-tastic
SamKidney
Standard springs back on the Micra next week. Has to last a year and id rather endure it legally and in some comfort. AndrewEH1
Tyres Going to get some Michelin Pilots, stepping down to 17" wheels to make the ride a little better on Edinburgh/Scottish roads. Which Michelin Pilots? Or what other tyre? Edited January 28, 2015 by AndrewEH1
MadManMike
Goodyear EfficientGrips. My car (Above!) has new ones all round, after a couple of hundred miles they're insanely sticky! Not too expensive, A rated in the wet, C rated fuel efficiency and awesome in the dry.
