Nice one dude, decent price for the SMIC?

Yeah took a few days to upload photos etc, apologies. What I'm tempted to do at some point is modify another airbox to be ~25mm or so wider which would comfortably accommodate the S2000 filter and should still just about fit in there and look about right. That's a tarty little project for a later date though, it'll do as it for a little while now.

about £33 posted, with 24 hour delivery.

shame i cant find the photo, seen someone who did a cai, where the battery was removed, and it was a massive box covering the air filter/battery area.

That's what i want to do to mine, tidy up the enigne bay some, move weight off the front to put it on the back, and means when i go to wire in a amp/sub later, the battery is already boot mounted!

Tuffty's S3? He's running a monster Jetex that's about 2ft long since relocating his battery to the boot. His build is mega clean/OEM+ and appeals to me massively :)

pictures/link?

i found it one day bored at work on my lunch trawling the internet (like you do!)

i think i found something on a mk5 golf gti forum, where they said about the car having better weight distribution, and it could be to do with the battery being boot mounted, which got me thinking about it all!

then i found the picture of the airbox on google search, which i havnt found since :(

Slow progress but it's getting there one small detail at a time...

I've covered almost 1000 miles in the LCR now, but since it was all a little neglected I wanted to make sure everything was fresh and as it should be. Oil and filters are now all done - nice to know it's all sorted on that front. Threw a magnetic sump plug in there just to make sure there's not a load of crap in the system. Have kept the undertray off for now so I can replace a few bushes over the next week or two (including dogbone mount)

I picked up my sharabang this morning. First thing to note is it handles like a go kart and having no guts means I can pretty much hammer it flat out everywhere so is lots of fun!

Only problem is a slight misfire at low revs meaning when you set of you need to rev it quite high but otherwise it runs sweet. Just ordered a bluetooth OBDII scanner so I can crack on sorting the problem out.

Also the speedo makes me feel like I'm driving a spaceship!

What do you do on your 25th birthday when you've taken the day off work?

Scrapyard..... :L

found a seat toledo with the right gear lingake that i need, so robbed all that off it (just need gear cables now)

i didnt have anything to cut the wires for the reverse switch, so i placed the wirirng on the gearbox mount, and hit it with a engine stabliser bar to cut though the wiring :giggle:

Plan for today was to fit the new side mount.

Size difference, not much but about 20mm deeper

Was for a 1.8T, so had the sensor mount in the intercooler. Made a blanking plate out of 4mm stainless steel that i had lying around

also brought an S2000 air filter today. Know the bloke from euro parts quite well, he pretty much said:

guess you dont have a reg number as everyone fits these to everthing.

Made me laugh >_<

I seem to spend a lot of time under cars so have been wondering how I can make my life easier. Has anyone looked into some form of hydraulic car lift? Something like a simple 2-post lift or these scissor jack types?...Not sure how stable they look.

This type looks better as you have better access from underneath:
