Greetings
That was sweet looks mega fun. Cars are so much fun on road tyres, haha. Have you ever had a go at left foot braking? That sort of event seems to have a lot of transitions between throttle and brake which is where you can really make some gains if you can keep one foot over each pedal. Exactly my thought after watching that! I've tried but haven't had the chance to practice properly. Almost all my driving is done during comps, not the time you want to experiment Definitely going to focus more on this now.
MadManMike
I'm up for a TF track day too. Wales / Midlands works for me

MadManMike
Hurry up Realistically I can't afford a track day this side of Christmas, so Feb / March would suit me best.

forteh
Guess we want somewhere cheap, and midland-ish, at a weekend, and in winter so it's wet and fun and cheap Curborough? I might have to pop over to say hello to people, it's 5 mins from my house
CurtisRider
After Christmas is good for me too, hopefully have Megasquirt by then I'll still be the slowest though
AdamR28
Good shout about Curborough actually - cheap, midlands, think it's about £600 a day to hire so could possibly hire the whole thing out for 10 of us... Not a proper track but the costs are much better and it's easier on the car.
Pete.M
Sounds suitable for a laugh. I was also hoping for February or after.
CurtisRider
£60 each sounds awesome. Apart from the usual roadworthyness checks what do you guys do pre and post track day? I assume things like oil will ideally want changing after?
Luke Rainbird
If I've got something a little more suited by the time this rolls around I'd be game for having a go on track
dann2707
Well up for February time! Can we book something so it's set in stone (unlike the TF car meet)

I assume things like oil will ideally want changing after? Pre: Fluid levels, make sure you have enough tyre tread to last the day. After: Check your brake pads aren't totally gone (they won't be at Curborough). Modern oils will be fine for a couple of track days and few thousand road miles. If I've got something a little more suited by the time this rolls around I'd be game for having a go on track You don't need anything 'suited', just get your ass along dude Well up for February time! Can we book something so it's set in stone (unlike the TF car meet) Cool - if anyone interested can put their name down and I'll give Curborough a shout, see what weekends they have free in Feb and March?
dann2707
I'll make a thread we can all add to because it will get lost in here
Luke Rainbird
You don't need anything 'suited', just get your ass along dude Perhaps I'll rephrase to "something with a working flywheel and clutch, and without a Tesco-van imprinted in the front". Totally game though and since boredom has already set in with the Golf, it'll be in something a little more fun I'm sure!
Azarathal
I'll be up for it car will be track suited by then too - already got coilovers and braided lines, soon having new calipers, clutch and polybushes and I'm dropping from 17"'s to 16"'s
CurtisRider
Ah wicked, cheers Adam. I think I over worry about this stuff I am rebuilding my rear brakes next week and will use some of that decent brake fluid anyway (the blue ATE stuff) so my brakes should be as good as they can be. Everything else on my car seems to be working pretty well as it's pretty much all new underneath! Just need the back end aligned as it didn't get done at the last place I went to
CurtisRider
I've been trying to work out why my car stinks of a gassy/petrolly smell whenever i'm parked at home, none of the filler pipes are shot or anything to my knowledge... turns out our mains gas is leaking and my car has been next to it. I feel a little bit sick right now...
Haz
Totally down for a TF track day. The only way I can describe the Scenic shifter mod in in the Clio is by going completely Australian; It f**king rips.
