AdamR28
Hmm, some front wheel bearings are deliberately set up to have a small amount of play (oldskool open taper needle bearing) and it doesn't have that effect on the car... dann2707
Not sure what the clios are actually! Will have to check later
AdamR28
Pretty sure it's a sealed cartridge. My point was that I don't think a tiny amount of wheel bearing play would make the car drive like you say it does...
SamKidney
4 point wheel alignment show anything out of the ordinary? I know you posted it here but I can't remember/be arsed to find it while I'm on my phone Check for wheel flatspots/buckles or raised "eggs" in your tyres. Jolfa
Have you checked your engine mounts by opening the bonnet, handbrake on, in gear then slowly let the clutch out and see if your engine is trying to climb out the bay? And I'm also going to put it out there on the matter of pulling to one side, it's torque steer and nothing more...
Pete.M
My clunking noise is still there when dropping the clutch etc Any parts of the exhaust close to anything else?
Danny
I can't feel anymore vibration when idling but it feels more connected to the road so there's a little more road noise if that makes sense? Is that comparing them to knackered standard mounts though? Fitting new standard mounts would have likely improved things.

Torque steer pulls to the left on these due to the shorter driveshaft one side. Thanks Any parts of the exhaust close to anything else? I'll also check this, apparently it's a common fault for the engine mounts to be shot that allow the manifold to hit subframe. Not sure if that would give me the dodgy handling though when going over uneven surfaces etc Is that comparing them to knackered standard mounts though? Fitting new standard mounts would have likely improved things. It definitely has, car feels great in that sense but still got the dodgy handling at speed. Accelerating is horrendous. greg1040
Please don't order 4 point harnesses Greg. You need the 6th straps to keep the buckle low really, and 4 points don't hold you in place very well.Sooo i took your advice and ordered up a 6 point harness. Have you just bolted yours into the back seat belt mounts.http://www.corbymotorsport.com/honda-integra-type-r-dc2-custom-cages-roll-cage-p-25575.html Most likly cage i will be fitting so i can strap harness to it. dann2707
MOTHER f**kING YESSSSSSSS!! It is the wheel bearing on the nearside, the one that I changed before with a cheap one from eBay. I just jacked the car up, wheels on and gave it a wiggle up and down. Very very sloppy and quite an actual audible knock when it hits back and forth. Checked the other side and not a single wobble whatsoever, absolutely solid. Really really happy that i've found it. Got my Dad outside to check it too and he just instantly went wheel bearing after giving it a shake. Now to get a genuine Renault one! In other non annoying news managed to get these sprayed up. Really happy with how they've turned out. Just need to harden for a few days then I'll flat them and machine polish them up to a lovely shine. 20141021_181903 by dann2707, on Flickr 20141021_181857 by dann2707, on Flickr I've done these because mine currently look like this. That's fantastic news, glad you went for the safer and more comfortable 6 points. Mine are mounted to the read seat belt points yes. Luckily the AWD floor of the S3 brings the belt mounts quite high and far back so the angle is acceptable. Good luck with the cage mission. Jolfa
I'll give that a shot tonight. Torque steer pulls to the left on these due to the shorter driveshaft one side. It's not really that straightforward there are other factors in torque steer, and as Clio boxes are on the left (as you sit in the car) it will pull right under hard acceleration - http://www.aa1car.com/library/torque_steer.htm It's just torque steer
Haz
Today I put the gear shifter from a Scenic in my Clio. Because why the hell not.
Pashley26
Guy on Audi Sport posted up as a new trader (of sorts) saying he was producing these to he'll pay for his degree, and if you liked his Facebook page you could win a set for free. Had a chat with the bloke. He seemed like a nice enough guy. Bought some with super pro bushes pre installed. Decided to get some caster increase bushes whilst I was at it. Yeah. They look something like this fitted up - And they reduce the standard 45mm bush to the original (and then recalled) 30mm bush. And also replace it with a poly super pro version. Stiff and yummy. Basically the original 35mm bush on the front of the TT's and S3's made the steering quite sharp and snappy. Audi recalled this to make the car softer and easier to drive. Increasing the bush size to 45mm and changing the density and design of the bushing. Fitting these is supposed to really sharpen up the front end on turn in. So then I ordered these as well so I can increase the caster on the front. Oh happy days. Edited October 21, 2014 by Pashley26

Let me get a video of it tomorrow to show you. When coasting along, not even planting my foot, it's twitching left and right rapidly - that ain't torque steer
Greetings
Was asked by my friends to join their team and help win something called a Youngtimer Party. Apparently the E36 now qualifies Won the last 2 rounds overall which gave them 1st place despite missing a driver. We got a nice engraved glass cup which we can keep for a year before it's up for grabs again Since getting all the cables above the pedals out of the way I've been able to mount a GoPro to see for the first time what's going on down there. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OCFXhfXJ4bI This event required the use of road legal tyres hence some rather messy driving. They were motorsport re-threads which offer good grip but basically make the car handle like jelly.
AdamR28
That was sweet looks mega fun. Cars are so much fun on road tyres, haha. Have you ever had a go at left foot braking? That sort of event seems to have a lot of transitions between throttle and brake which is where you can really make some gains if you can keep one foot over each pedal.
