Uh huh.

As previously shown, I clearly like a good bargain.

As previously shown, I don't mind taking a punt on things.

As previously shown, I'm building a race car.

As previously shown, I've got some puppies to protect and their safety is paramount.

So, I paid £45 for my harnesses.

:shock: :thumb::fishing::chin::fish:

So.

They're 3", they're a 5/6 point fitment, they're super stitched, they're not hugely heavy, the quick release point is smooth and easy to operate, the gnarled adjusters seem to hold very well.

They cost £45.

The price has gone up by 5% since I ordered though...

I applied the same logic I do to the entire VAG range and almost all aftermarket upgrades.

They're made in a factory in Taiwan. Probably the same factory that has all the tooling and brain power to make another harness, like TRS or something.

They've GOT to go through some sort of safety testing.

They seem all right for the cash, so I'm happy with that.

Some people enjoy videos.

Rebush the front arms, they probably won't be far from needing them if they don't already. Without seeing the car it is hard to say what is definitely up but if its wheel shaking its either something with some slack or something up with your wheels/tyres-could try switching front to rear and see if anything changes?

This means very little unfortunately, you may be lucky but my guess is the quality of materials wont be up to standards at that price

You need FIA approved belts and seat if you're building a race car...

By race, I basically mean I'm building it in a rush.

Apart from some logo's, I'm certain these are identical to 90% of harnesses I've used.

The straps themselves are absolutely the same as every other harness I've ever used.

The mounting points can be changed to more expensive snap-locks.

The buckle itself seems fairly sturdy, in terms of testing I can't do anything until it's in the car.

But they're certainly nicer than the fake Takata harnesses thousands of people run.

I'm not fussed, I think snobbery about the unbrandedness of them isn't justified.

We'll find out if I have a crash though :)

The term 'race car' annoys the living crap out of me. no racing - no race car!

As far as DIY home builds go, my car is about as close to a 'race car' as most will ever get, yet you'll NEVER hear me call it a race car, because I havn't raced it.

It's a track car. because it's used on track. that's it's purpose.

If you drive it every day to work, it's not a track car either, it's your car that you also use on track sometimes, or maybe it's a track car, and you're an idiot

And to add to that, taking the back seats out and fitting buckets does not maketh the track car! Soooo many people have a "track car" they use to go to work in everyday, and see a track maybe once or twice a year...very annoying!

Girlfriend's '14 plate Corsa she uses as her driving instructor car has just been in a 6 car pile up. Not a great start to the morning! All caused by a f**king German woman with a puppy loose on her lap while driving. She pushed 2 cars out of the way, flipping them, before ploughing into the back of Lauren, who then hit a new Fiesta, who piled into the back of a Range Rover. Gonna be a right old game for the insurance!

I accidentally two more sets of wheels.

Bought a set of TSW's for £150 that have pretty much brand new winter tyres on and a set of BBS wheels that need a refurb.

Anyone want some 14" Ibiza wheels with half decent tyres on? (4x100)

How much

Set yourselves a decent several hours. Took me most of the day by the time I had the pair of old seats out, seatbelts out, airbag plugs resistored, everything measured and cut, all of it bolted together and in. You won't do it in just a couple of hours, if that's what you're hoping!

I'm planning on getting the drivers seat in this evening, with / without harness depending on progress.

Anything more will be a bonus. Drivers seat in is the bare min for Dony.

If it goes well, who knows, but getting the drivers seat in will be a good start.
