Danny
Cheers chaps. I'm hoping ill never have to use it. I go on quite a few runs so if it doesn't help me it might help someone else.
SamKidney
So my inaccurate fuel gauge caught me out today, at last haha Usually when its on the lowest mark I have 30 miles left, good for 3 days of commuting. I missed a weekend of driving, didnt fill up on monday as I usually do thinking what I have will do as Id not driven all weekend. Died coming back from the shop, 2 minutes from work. Dive it into a space at the side of the road, leave it and resume work. Walk back with jerry can in hand to fill car, and notice a council wardens note on my windscreen. Only inadvertently parked in a permit only space failing to see the sign, parking ticket of £25.00 Lesson learnt, dont be a tight f**k with fuel and watch where I leave the car :')

CurtisRider
Mike, those under seat subs are ok, I'd suggest trying one in halfords if they still stock them? Expensive for what they are! Have you thought about simply amping some decent speakers? Unfortunately after lots of umming and arrrring over the 1.8t conversion I have decided against it for the time being due to my house taking up lots of my time currently (nearly there now) and it is going to cost far more than originally anticipated making it less realistic financially. It will most likely happen, just not yet as I want a useable car. Not a half finished thing on the drive and no money left. I do however want to ditch my k jet mechanical injection and go EFI and possibly coil packs too. This would mean that I will have many of the required components for the engine swap and plenty of experience with it all anyway, so I'll be a good chunk of the way there! I'm going to get a megasquirt system (undecided which, simply needs to be suitable for a turbo setup later) and start building up the system off the car and install it when I have the use of my girlfriends mums BMW for 6 weeks in January. This will mean I don't have to rush it and I can do a good job of the install. Questions: Which megasquirt do I need? I'm getting a bit confused by what I really require Are the cheap ebay FPRs any good? I have seen them for between £20-50 but don't want to end up driving a ball of flames... Equally I'm trying to keep cost down!

Jolfa
I would avoid cheap FPRs, had bad experiences with them leaking, you gets what you pays for!
CurtisRider
That is what I had figured, I don't want to risk that! What would you recommend? It needs to withstand a minimum of 3bar apparently for my build
Azarathal
Anyone used one of those under seat subs? My new sound system is good, but because of the size restriction of the speakers there's no bass unless you're parked up with the engine off... Being a Eunos there's a restriction on space unless I start hacking the car apart, which I did consider, but would rather not do. I've had a Vibe Optisound8 for over a year now and I'm impressed, it's not earth shattering but I like bass to be part of the song and not best heard 15ft away. Just looked through my photos and I don't have one to show you I'll take one tomorrow (and as the cars clean I can pic whore ) it's strapped onto the rear firewall but does come with mounts so you can screw it in. Fits easily behind the mr2 seat whilst sat on top of a cubby box so should have plenty of room. I know you're into your music so it might not be up to your standard but I think it's decent and this Is using the standard (shit) unscreened phonos. I'm the same as you mate, I just want a little bass behind the music - not into rattling the car apart. Cheers for the suggestion, I'll check out the Vibe. With regards to amping decent speakers, the space for the speakers is very small so there's not much I can do in the way of bass. The speakers I've fitted are good and the headunit powers them nicely, they just lack low end punch.
Prawny Baby
I feel kinda sad at the loss of the tax disc. I'm tempted to leave mine on display indefinitely Although it won't mean anything anymore, it'll still feel strangely rebellious driving around in 2022 displaying a tax disc that expired back in '14!

dann2707
Weird to think one day people will be weirded out at the fact we used to have this paper thing we had to cut out and stick in our windscreens to show we paid for something. Greetings
My friend drove me around in his Z06 Corvette and I absolutely loved it. I didn't know the yanks could make such a good car. It's so beautifully simple - no electronic nonsense, just a massive pushrod V8 mated to a manual gearbox and an LSD. It's got a stock exhaust yet it sounds like an absolute beast. Such a great package so long as you ignore the interior quality. Me approves
greg1040
So i have stripped rear some more hidden more cables behind the pannels came up not to bad well good as its going to get. Just got to cut the fog light wire now and hide that behind the pannels and cables will be all sorted. Ordered up a standard dc2 dash today hopefully that solves my issues if not will have to look into a possible dodgy wire. Also got a rear boot carpet to keep as a spare. And plastic bits for the inside of the door for mirrors mines have holes and screws in them from extra speaker fitment just trying to tidy her up a bit. Tiny bit of rust to sort out will check halfords tomorrow see if i can get a rough colour of paint just for that wee bit. Another early finish of work tomorrow going to strip the front seats and clean them up still undecided on removing front carpet or not. Also gonna give the strut bar? A fresh coat of paint either yellow or back opinions?
LiamWood!
The colour code is Y56 if you didn't know already mate.
Tom Booth
Personally I wouldn't bother with buying an aerosol of the proper colour, it'll stand out like a sore thumb. Head to your local good motor factors and ask for a colour match, it'll look far better against the aged yellow. It'll be 245% cheaper then halfords too.

Azarathal
Well, definitely needed a seat out clean! Seats all cleaned up and looking good again, not bad for 15years/80k miles I'm the same as you mate, I just want a little bass behind the music - not into rattling the car apart. Cheers for the suggestion, I'll check out the Vibe. With regards to amping decent speakers, the space for the speakers is very small so there's not much I can do in the way of bass. The speakers I've fitted are good and the headunit powers them nicely, they just lack low end punch. This is the pic of it fitted behind the passenger seat. I need to get the ol' iron out to shorten the cables but thankfully I have the cubby box to shove the massive excess in
SamKidney
Bottom end on my engine is "assembled" Assembled in as much as I completely overlooked that the crankshaft cradle is retained using stretch bolts, and I didn't have any... Ordered some, with me for the morning. VERY long night ahead of me tomorrow now, needs to be all done by Friday

Just sayingggg I never touched the brakes? I don't meant to be harsh mate, but the guy you've got working on your car is a f**king retard. He spent ages on the phone telling me the dump valve was leaking, it's a f**king turbo diesel :/ Is he an apprentice by any chance?
