Greetings
I've noticed that some things don't change over the years... Definitely need to get the estate going for the next season. Drifting is boring as f**k, but if you have a car you couldn't give a shit about then tsuiso can make it a whole lot more interesting. Prawny Baby
Enough about how it drives, what diameter are the wrist pins? Tic's gudgeon pins are 19mm. It was never about a pin size either, I couldn't give a flying f**k. it was about being called out by a youth with an over-active google gland vs genuine 1st hand knowledge.
Pashley26
lol Bob, f**k off moaning already. You can't prove me wrong and I can't prove myself right, shut up being a bloody misery already. Just like your old man! You should be posting in here about the A3's developments today, but any chance for a climb up the moral high-ground ladder. - Seeing those pictures makes me jealous Alex, I want to go sideways Question for the BMW people that Google has no answer to, should the spoiler on my car have little plastic shims/gromets/spacers underneath where it attaches to the boot? Because my spoiler wobbles, and I removed it today and the bolts go all the way to the end of their threads and it still isn't tight. Judging by the state of them and the untouched plugs I presume they are original too. I just waxed it with Dodo Juice purple haze, blue velvet and then sealed it with Collinite 915. Kinda transformed the color a bit, it looks much nicer now. Not bad for a 17 year old bonnet that's done 100K - What does POB mean? It means that he lives in/his car is registered in Oborniki. Polish plates have the same system we do, with W being south west, D being London etc. Edited August 2, 2012 by Pashley26

But I like moaning I've been at work now for 11 days straight without a break on 12 hour split shifts. moaning is all I have left! (and beer ) My M3 didn't have any shims under the spoiller, and it was rusting through from the bolt holes outwards like they all do
Pashley26
If you want a moan ring me up, I am king of rants. RobinJI
With regards to the new Focus. I want/need to go and find ford (and most other new car companies) slap them around the face, and shout at them about how cars are for using, not just sitting in a show room/bill board and looking pretty. Point in case: Front lights, go on the cocking FRONT of the car, the clues in the name, I'm board of not being able to see people indicate off roundabouts or into junctions because their indicators half way down the side of their car. Yet somehow, you still can't see the indicators from the side of the car they are on half the time, because they all have a clear lens, so in direct sunlight, unless you can see the bulb, (which you can't from the side, as there's quite rightly a reflector there) then you can't see shit. Windows are for the occupants to look out of, stop making rear windscreens increasingly resembling letterboxes and rear windows tiny triangular things at the top of 1000 square feet of quarter panel. It means you can't see anything behind you, this is a stupid thing. HID's are just plain stupid, anyone who's ever operated a camera knows that really brightly illuminating a small portion of your view will only serve to decrease your ability to see anything at all outside the bright area, if you only need the area illuminated by your dipped beams to drive at night, then either your doing it wrong, or you've got the reaction times of a mongoose. Added to which, they will, (and regularly do) blind other road users, because roads have corners and crests in them. Other than the designers inability to consider basic practicality it's not a bad looking car, but I can't help thing it looks a lot like a slightly uglier/cheaper looking mk4 mondeo. In my exciting car news, I've got almost none. I've decided I'm definitely going to go V6 in the mini, but I'm not 100% on what spec, it'll depend on budget. The Passats still working fine and sipping lightly at diesel while asking for nothing, and the Scirocco's still very broken. Jardo, I think you should take a look at the Passat's paint in a few weeks too, it's in need of some TLC, I do need to start looking after it better in that respect, quite keen to get some mk3 golf GTI seats in there soon too. Have a photo or 2 of my Passat the other day, just because the sun was out (note the indicators on the front corner of the car, and the rear window being big enough to see behind me : Edited August 2, 2012 by RobinJI
Greetings
What's that? It's drifting side by side / in pairs. Awesome stuff when you've got skills or a car you couldn't give a shit about. What does POB mean? Over here cars get plates depending on what region/county they are currently registered in. My region is Oborniki near Poznan which has a POB code. PO would be Poznan, PZ outskirts of Poznan etc. This system has a lot of benifits, from spotting drivers who could potentially be idiots (PSZ for instance) to having an easier time in traffic when you're in a different city. Drivers will often be much more forgiving when they know you're not from around here. First pic from the photo shoot on Tuesday. More to come.

RobinJI
Yeah, lip's standard fit, they're covered in little aero touches like that, the saloons have a drag coefficient of 0.28, pretty impressive for a car that came out in '88 I'm not sure about the estates but I'd guess it's about 0.3/31. It's not normally quite that close to the ground, but it's parked on a curved surface in that photo. Do you mean brands hatch? If so when?

Pashley26
Why would you use 3 waxes lol? Three different waxes to build up a deeper colour profile. Purple haze is a soft wax with purple light diffusers, blue velvet is a medium wax which has blue diffusers and Collinite is the shiniest hardest most badass wax known to man. Using multiple waxes is pretty common I think. You only have to look at this picture to see it works Edited August 2, 2012 by Pashley26
N.Wood
Surely the soft wax will come off once you buff the next layer? I found Dodo juice stuff pretty shit... Didn't last at all. Collinite over the top is a good idea, but I can't see how you won't just strip the previous layer when you put on another wax

N.Wood
Would be good to see a side by side pic of purple haze and colli vs blue velvet and colli vs just colli with the above pic for reference... Pashley26
I wrote out a massive essay on how that it was a load of Bullshit but I just can't be bothered initiating an argument so deleted it. Looks good either way though. No please do write your essay, I would love to know why it's bullshit and why it wouldn't work. It seems to work fine to me, and I've been doing black cars with purple haze and collinite for a while now. Always seems to give the paint much more depth. If I could skip out using another product inbetween and get straight to it them that would be awesome. I'm not a huge fan of Dodo Juice either, it seems a bit of a marketing joke compared to other stuff. But it smells good and does make metallics pop a bit better. Here's what the same process did to my Clio - I have been reading up on this now, part three of Dodo Juices own conclusion in this post tells me everything I should need to know - http://dodojuice.com/juicebar/viewtopic.php?t=2011 3. The fourth layer seemed to have the strongest coloration. This would suggest that you can layer these waxes four times before you start taking old wax off with the fresh layer, or buffing it down to a 'maximum' level. However, it may be that the oils are simply being absorbed by the old wax layers underneath and thus getting darker each time (with the wax remaining at an even level), although the colour shouldn't fall back on subsequent layers if this was the case. Although highly subjective, it would be enough for me to question the 'two layers is maximum' theory. It may vary from product to product, and in these tests, four layers seemed to be optimum. We would still recommend at least two for coverage, and no more because it would be largely unnecessary for the effect or result that needs to be attained. But don't scoff if people layer waxes more than twice. I won't after seeing the panel here. Taking that and reading the thread, surely as Dodo waxes are super soft applying a layer of each spread an hour apart and then a coat of Collinite 4 hours later is actually a good way to manipulate the paint? RobinJI
Jardo, you're aware that those 2 photos of your paint might as well be a close up of my desk for all it means to anyone reading this thread. They mean absolutely jack all without a before and after, and even then you'd have to know that the lighting conditions and camera settings were the same to actually be able to provide any real comparison. A quick fiddle with the white balance setting on my camera could make your BMW look deep royal blue or silver. Greetings, that's looking great. Miss-matching seats doesn't really bother me, it's far from unusual in racing cars. Get some padding on that cage ASAP though.
Greetings
Get some padding on that cage ASAP though. Is it really that necessary when driving around in a crash helmet? I plan on doing the padding in the future but just can't believe it's such an urgent matter. Wouldn't mind being proved wrong.
dann2707
Dads friend came round to have some work doing on the car to get i through it's mot or something so took the chance to give it a quick clean. I kinda like the colour. The wheels had shit loads of brake dust embedded so out with the Iron-X, worked amazing as always... After being scrubbed with all purpose cleaner they still looks shit.. Before.. After a few squirts, i'm running out badly so didn't give them a full covering. Plus this was just a free job cos im a top guy. Bleeeeeding! After. Shame it doesn't get rid of road tar too. Then some after pics, was literally just a wash but turned out quite nice. Painful not being able to have the car to myself for a weekend to see how good I can really get it.
