For mine I started with 800, and got all the crap off, then moved to 1500, then finally 2500 wet and dry until the lenses were completely cloudy.

Then I got some Meguiars #105 cutting compound and put that on a machine polisher with a medium cutting pad and went over the lens for around 5 minutes each lens ensuring the machine polisher is moving at all times as with plastic it's so easy for it to melt with the heat.

Then I applied 3 coats of wax afterwards and they've been spot on since.

Shame you're so far away as I would have loved to help you dude :(

Wellll multiple break downs later I did in fact get to Hastings.

When we took it all apart, the clips on the bleeding block snapped.

It would have been £4+ £15 in fuel to go to TPS to get new ones.

Or for £20 I could buy an aluminium bleed block with no restriction in it. And new clips.

The block turned up, with its new clips and seals. Dad went to fit it but the anodising was so thick on it that it didn't fit. So he out it back in the box, used the O-rings and seals and then the clips and put it all back together.

All worked fine for an hour and a half, had 100 miles on the clutch and decided to press on a little bit.

Pegged it down a gear quite firmly to over take and pulled it through 4th at 3/4 throttle.

Went to change to 5th...No clutch! Pedal was on the floor.

So looking like a total lemon I put the hazards on, pulled onto the verge and popped the bonnet.

The clips for the larger aluminium bleed block don't fit the old one. To put it simply.

They hold the block on, with a fair force. But not enough to really clip in and stop it being pushed off from a quick clutch press.

Luckily this time I hadn't popped it right off, and the bleed block had just slid half the way off the slave with the clutch press but with no pressure it wasn't going back.

So I pushed it on, pumped the clutch and it came back.

Gently got it into 4th and stayed there ten minutes.

Then it kept popping off until eventually I lost all clutch and fluid at 11pm on the A21 with no battery on my phone on my way to see all my drunk friends.

Limped it there with no clutch, raided the tool box and polished down the anodising on the bleed block. Luckily dad left the old slave and new bleed block in the car.

Going to refit and cross fingers once it's a social hour to be working in the middle of the road.

Some onboard material from the last comp which was held on Saturday. My favourite and most adrenaline pumping round of the season. Managed to come 2nd overall, had a good chance for 1st had I not encountered technical difficulties.

Super fun time starts at 2:50:

As it turned out later on, my wheel almost fell off on that run. But due to driving all day with a diff which was about to fall off, I couldn't identify the noise correctly at the time.

This is not mine but I'm absolutely astounded by it. We very rarely get women drivers in these competitions and they're usually not that good but this girl has absolutely mad skills. 2:50 and onwards for the really good stuff, amazing pedal work as well.

It had a big exhaust on it, so presume it had a few things done to it. He was flat out, and I had to keep lifting off so as to not push him out of the way. Great fun!

Also upset a guy in an e46 m3. Had the weirdest sounding exhaust on it, sounded sooooo raspy, almost like a Vtec.

I love this car so much, it keeps surprising me with what it can pick off!

Hope someone can shed some light on my problem...

I had my VW Passat in for a service last Friday. I was forced into having it serviced by my GFs step dad after he stuck 4 new tyres on it for me. "part of the deal of getting free tyres" or something.

Anyway, a service and 250 quid down the swanny later I pick it up. Mechanic tells me what he had done to the car including changing the brake fluid, looking at the filters - f**k knows what else.

Later on I do a reversing manoeuvre in a car park and notice my power steering is making a shitty noise, not even in full lock. Its never made that noise before.. Could this be anything to do with what they've been doing in the garage to "service" my car?

There also sounds like there’s a hole in the exhaust now, although that might have been me kicking the ars out of the car on the way down south on Friday night.

Back again. I solved my "power steering problem". Turns out it was a bit of broken and bent inwards bit of wheel arch which was rubbing the tyre when I was close to full lock. Sounded like my power steering to the untrained ear... Anyway, I had a look myself and bent it back, no problems.

The whole in the exhaust is a little more than I thought. Turns out the engine needs a Terra Clean. Has anybody had that done? Guy says it'll be about £120.
