dann2707
You're going to start putting me to shame... I've had to buy a new Skoda splitter and some silver visions just to make myself feel better. Also bought the correct boss for my car after finding out the OMP one isn't correct. Woohoo. I already am :/ just kidding mate haha. Link me to your thread on CS please To be fair i'm pretty much done for aesthetic mods, definitely getting some bilstein coilovers as my next biggest purchase! but this is going to be ages yet, oh and I need a cup spoiler Maybe i'm not done. Some way to go yet, see here B14s? I've heard good things, I'm personally saving for some AST 4100s because they are pure porn. I polished my headlights today and it will get a proper wash Friday, when I fit the new splitter et all. Momo boss is in, all my lights have gone out, happy days. I'll no doubt refresh all the tie rod ends, arms, etc etc at a later date. I'll just never really be a massive fan of the 172's, not sure cos it's not got the chavvy dual exhausts and they're older. Just prefer 182's
Haz
Yeah, but 182 wheels are gash, with the exception of Trophy Turinis, of course.
dann2707
Yeah, but 182 wheels are gash, with the exception of Trophy Turinis, of course. Because of the weight? They are so heavy! Look much better imo though
Haz
On second thoughts, you're right. The standard 172 wheels are worse.
Azarathal
Soldered a diode onto the PCB of my window switch today. It already had it's own marked location including the holes for the stems to go through, it just didn't come with one. Anyway, window switch now allows auto up as well as auto down so thats all good and shit.

RobinJI
Got all excited about driving this weekend, turns out I cant tax it until my insurance certificate arrives Meh. Just get them to Email you it and print it out, most companies have no problem doing this for exactly this reason.
dann2707
Try taxing it online! If it's insured it should come up on the database (usually sooner than when your certificate arrives) then it's taxed. Although if a police sees you don't have a tax disc in your car you will get nobbled but if you explain they'll be fine. Or see if your insurance company offer online insurance certificates like mine do (Admiral) that you can simply print off and take to the post office etc. Edited July 23, 2014 by dann2707
SamKidney
Best ringing and asking over the phone for an emailed cert then?
RobinJI
Yep. I've done it a few times, they've always been fine about it, I believe it's pretty common practice.
dann2707
Or go onto their website, log in and look under control panel, amend deets etc and it should be on there.

Finalizing it all tomorrow so then its just a case of having it tested and taxed. Would be handy to be able to print it off so I can tax it this weekend

Jolfa
I received some new A pillars in the post as I attempted to spray mine black but for some reason, despite using plastic primer and doing all the necessary steps, it just flaked off as you can see. Silicone based interior trim sprays, evil product, we used to have the same problem when flocking stuff - wipe down with thinners before applying paint
Ben Cox
You don't need your insurance certificate or MOT to tax your car at the post office. Just bring your logbook, green slip or reminder in. Ben

Prawny Baby
is that because it's all checked online Ben? I was most surprised when they just scanned the V5 and didn't ask to see anything else either!
Muel
ORLY. That's useful. Does the same go for bikes now then?
craigjames
Not sure about bikes, but definitely the score for cars; taxed my A3 that had been sorned in exactly this way. So much easier and as of October you won't have to worry about getting stung for not having a disc displayed. Although I was told that they are thinking about making tax non-transferable, so if you buy a second hand car you'll have to get it retaxed in your name before you can drive it away. That almost makes sense in a way, but would only suck if you still had to pay for say til December and you sell it in June?
Tony Harrison
I'm sure you'll still be able to get tax refunded...
