Danny
Is simon the one with the LCR now? No he's the one that now lives in Australia. He's not around here much anymore.
Pashley26
Isn't that Simons old car? The saga of Simons POS Civic was hilarious, and listening to him cry every time somebody told him it looked gay. I love Simon, genuinely do. But that whole episode was hilarious. Yolo#hatersgonnah8#sumpscraperzz#vtecnotgirls# The person you are looking for is George Seamons; an equally loveable fellow. I far prefer George to Simon. In the same way most people prefer cold cheese on toast to me. Edited July 14, 2014 by Pashley26
CurtisRider
Wasn't Simon into little girls too? Maybe that's why you confused him and George
MadManMike
Anyone in the South West know of a good steel fabricator? I was looking to get some exhaust work done, booked a holiday down in Dorset based on the guy I was going to use, but he's busy the week I'm free so that's out of the window. Pashley26
Pahanahahahaha. I just lolled in the middle of the showroom and everybody is looking at me. George's girlfriends seem to go crazy for his penis, they say it tastes just like cheese and onion Pringles? MadManMike
I can't seem to quote posts on my work computer...?? I haven't tried retrorides, I don't know what kind of reception I'd get on there, rolling in a 55 plate car...!
RobinJI
Where abouts in Dorset Mike? It's a big old county. If you're in the west half I'm sure I could recommend some places. What sort of work is it you need doing? Full system? repair existing system? modify existing? etc... Are you still in the Leon?
CurtisRider
Most retrorides chaps won't care, most are open to any cars and they would be stupid to criticise if they are getting paid... Shame you aren't my way, I'd happily do it. Modified some mk2 golf handles to fit my porsche, just got to fit them and hopefully I can get into the car without clambering through the wrong side! Variable speed motor controller arrived today so I can modify my interior fan setup and not just have it on constant full blast, slightly irritating!
RobinJI
It's like they're more into stance and how the car looks than how it handles. Don't get me wrong, I do enjoy a good looking car and it being visually maintained well but when you can't go down certain roads because of speed bumps etc it just shows how shit it all is. I don't really get how that makes it shit? It's just different. There's more to cars than speed and practicality, or they'd all be bloody boring. And yeah, they are more into stance and looks than handling, 99% of them would openly admit that. I don't really see that as a problem, they're not hurting anyone. In fact, they hurt a lot less people while slowly scraping along the ground than people who find their cars full performance potential do. Fair enough if you don't want to pay it any attention, but slagging it off just because it's not what you're into's a little off surely? I rarely disagree with you Robin, if ever, but on this account I do. It's an open forum and it's his opinion, some will love it some will hate it. People put up pictures or voice their opinions of whatever they want on here and it's up for open debate, praise and abuse. Personally i'm not a fan either, I think they're brilliant little cars and can handle incredibly well. Seems such a shame to take what is a pretty rare, fun and driveable car and in my opinion ruin it by taking away it's usability. Just see it as such a waste of a good car. But then i don't really get this whole stance scene anyway.

All I'm after is the pipe chopped a couple of inches before the silencer and a 2.5" pipe put on going right to the back. All it needs is a slight bend and a mount welding on (And whatever else to connect to the existing exhaust). Short answer - chop my silencer off! And sorry, it was Devon, not Dorset - Teignmouth to be precise. I live in Bristol and will be down near Teignmouth next month so I'm happy to go anywhere in that kind of area. RobinJI
Craig, yeah, I was probably being a bit harsh, really I meant that post in a non-aggressive 'give them a break, they're not hurting anyone' way. I'm just getting bored of people slagging off other peoples cars for compromising performance, it can't be that hard to understand that some people don't want to go round corners fast can it? Most people with 'stanced' cars are well aware it makes them shit to drive, but they don't really care, and the fact is it makes a trip out in them an event, it can be kind of fun/interesting in a perverse sort of way. (Probably doesn't help that I'm a bit grumpy thanks to breaking my collar bone and giving myself a pretty harsh concussion on saturday, I'm not loving the idea of 6 weeks with no bike/car ) Mike, I'll have a look/ask. Are you in the S.O.S. (southern old school) group on Facebook? They're based down that way and would know all the right guys. RobinJI
I just tried adding you to the group, but it needs admin acceptance, so I don't know when that'll happen. Hopefully someone on there will be able to recommend someone.
SamKidney
My car just seems to have deteriorated rapidly in the last two weeks. The interiors rank, and Ive already sourced why. Classic case of leaky brake servo/bulkhead seal = water in footwell when it rains. Warm weather = mould. I've got most of it out, carpets f**ked but I can get another/cover that. Whats bugging me is the small spots of mould begining to appear on my roof lining. Tips on getting rid of this stuff?
MadManMike
I had leaky seals in my previous Leon, I left the window slightly open and left a 1kg bag of rice open in the rear footwell - that sorted out the damp. I didn't leave it long enough to go mouldy so can't help you there.
JDâ„¢
Just taken delivery of some cheap BMW wheels for the ol' 540i so that I can get the Schnitzer wheels off it and get it sold. Pashley26
So you have all seen the thread and the saga of my clutch. So I put the subframe back in, tied everything out the way and pushed it outside to think about it's behaviour. Praying that disconnecting the battery for a week doesn't wipe the mapping or anything stupid like that! It doesn't mean I can't roll in style though, my 11bhp 60 year old Ford Pop has been ferrying me 90 miles a day to work and back. Faultless. Three gears, self cancelling indicators, no wipers at the moment and a top speed of 45. Booya! Ordered a set of ball joints, track rods with ends, new subframe bolts and flywheel/cover plate bolts. Waiting for Twattyc*unts/TechniClutch to refund me so I can make a decision about what way to go with the replacement. Keep the DMF and add a CG Motorsport clutch? Or put a stock clutch in and spend money elsewhere whilst it's apart? Oh, and cross my fingers that the gearbox is fine after my dad knocking it off the transmission jack and down 6 foot onto a concrete floor... It stoved in the engine mount hole, luckily its inches deep so we just drilled it out 10mm and ran a tap down it. Hopefully nothing internally is damaged. Pashley26
The key point I have missed in that copy and paste... Stripped the car down Friday, had it on the ramp all day Saturday and went to fit the clutch on Sunday morning. They sent through a miss match of wrong parts. Tried telling me they did fit when they didn't, tried to wiggle out of a refund etc etc. The conversation was hilarious. Added to that LUK who are VAG's OE supplier have never supplied Techniclutch with any parts, and are currently in a lawsuit with them about the damage they are doing to their reputation. JD™
Step one of get rid of the 5 series for some wedding cash without getting rid of the wheels I like, is complete. Now the hard part is valuing it. Examples with an MOT and tax seem to be valued somewhere between the £3-4k mark. To get through an MOT, this just really needs some welding and other small bits, although then it obviously needs some tidying up in various areas to get to a decent standard. I wish I had the time/money to do it myself, it'd be a really nice project. Am I completely off my rocker to be expecting somewhere between £1.5-2k? Engine, transmission and the rest is all sound, and those are the best bits...
