Do neither. Depin the plug and get some new pins or a whole new plug. No ugly joins then. (thats assuming you can get new plugs)

I agree.

But it was a multiple choice question and I couldn't even exactly put my own answer in haha

GR8 turbo Jake.

I raced an S2 Lotus Elan today. Got beaten. Want an Elan now.

So unbelievably cool - no idea what it was running but it had a 3" pipe straight out the back centred, was an absolute rocket. Great to watch him carry on down the M25 and bully all the BMWs and Audis into the middle lane.

Sounds fun!

I smashed an M3 today for about 10 miles down the A30.

Ruined him in the corners, let him catch up on the straights then made sure he couldn't over take then ruined him again at everything roundabout, corner and braking point along the A30.

Pulled into the Shell at Camberly and I was already leant against my car, in my suit with my shades on filling up. He pulled next to me and said "that was fun, obviously you've done a lot of work to that S3. Is it a 2L?"

"Nah, 1.8."

"What's that then? 330bhp on a map? Mines 340."

"No, 290."

"Oh..."

"Nice M3, my friends got one just like it."

/conversation.

Why AM I such a fanny?

Been away for a week so to play catch-up:

That evo's front end needs painting, the panels being carbon doesn't make them being the wrong colour look any less silly, otherwise, good work.

Nice videos on track Adam/Greetings. Adam, nothing wrong with 'ruined' lowered cars, you're not having to drive or buy them and it makes the owner happy. ;)

It sucks that everyone's coolant's falling out. Mark, how on earth did they justify not covering that on warranty?

And regarding the solder vs crimps, on a lambda sensor it's pretty irrelevant, the wires are multi-strand stainless and a MASSIVE ball-ache to solder even if he wanted to. Personally I much prefer soldered joint, but yeah, they need supporting to stop fatigue damage over time.

I drove to Anglesey and back this week in the Scirocco which is about 300 miles each way, mostly motorway. I felt fresh and decent after both drives, the car didn't miss a beat and I managed 37mpg despite spending decent lengths of time at naughty speeds. As a bonus, I counted 3 phumbs up from random cars, several nods and smiles and at least 3 different people taking pictures as they passed me/I passed them. A random mk2 golf convoyed with me for ~50 miles then gave a flash and a wave when he turned off. I really do love that car. Must chase up the new doors/wing I found for it.

Don't buy a 996 911. they're over rated.

Too soft the the track.

Not practical or good enough for the road.

Friend of mine had a lovely 996 years ago, decided it wasn't all that. Sold it and bought an m3, and LOVED it.

fast forward 10 years, and he decided to give it another try, and bought a mint 996 C4.

5 months later, it's for sale again, and he can't work out why he even bothered. going back to an E46 m3 this time. he said the 996 was utterly shit on track, and a pain in the arse on the road. general all round faul.

They're FULL of problems, engine failures etc etc, the 996 just isn't much good, unless it's a turbo or gt3 with the metzger engines.

Cheap for a reason. buy something else.

If you gave a car key to the relevant car manufacturer, would they be able to find the associated car registration number?

The key itself probably fits loads of cars. If its semi modern the chip inside is the main security.

Sorry for spamming tf again. Thought i'd update seeing as though no ones really posting, my car's going to be the next A3 ;)
I did take quite a few before and after pictures but they sadly got deleted from my camera. But i've done a few little niggly things that needed sorting.
First of all I wet sanded the rear number plate light as it was, like the headlights, all dull and faded. This is the best before pic I can get after them deleting...

And afterwards!

Then fitted a brighter boot light as the one in there was shocking. Luckily had a few lying around.

This one fit nice and snug though (sort of)

Ridiculously bright too!

I then thoroughly cleaned the door and boot shuts as they were a little minging. Put down a layer of wax too just to be sure and make cleaning in the future easier.

Then took a pic at night with the numberplate light after it being polished and waxed. The camera makes it look stupidly glaringly bright but it's not in real life

Then finally I took some pics today in my Dad's work car park.

They did in the end - the owner dude appeared to realise they were harshing my vibe maaaaan so I just left it with them. About 2hrs later they gave me a call and they'd fitted a seemingly new thermostat housing. It's all been fine so far, although my syringe wouldn't quite fit into the top of the header tank so I haven't been able to remove the excess coolant they put in there yet. Also needs yet more oil, which is a slight concern...

My rear end slides way too easy in the rain.

I just bought new front tyres.

Excellent priorities.

Top work.

Seriously though, I am a silly boy. :(

way too easy= fun but still controllable or how can I drive it on the road like this easy?

Fun but controllable, I guess. It just has very little rear end traction for various reasons!

I'm a lot more comfortable with oversteer than understeer. Understeer scares me a lot. Thankfully the front end of my car is surprisingly well planted, for what it is.
