I'll give them a call and see what they say, I've seen a quote of £1,500 online and I'm happy with that.

If it's less than £500 or so to change the insurance I think I will fully well go ahead with it.

Cheap ways to make my small car fun? It's only a little 1.2 Corsa that I have to live with for a year or so until I go better. Its just such a dull drive.

Drive it like you nicked it. Everywhere. But not outside schools or in towns

Take all the windows out for that 'going fast' feeling.

What a day!!!

I have earned this...

10425119_1497927797089063_41787867328835

So I have been getting very concerned about my fuel consumption, 28mpg just isn't cutting it. I do 80 miles a day to work and back, six days a week.

80x6 = 480 a week. x 52= 24,960 a year just in commuting. 2080 miles a month.

2080/28mpg is 74 gallons. X 4.5 to the gallon, is 334 litres. X1.4 for a Power is £468 a month in fuel. Sodding ludicrous!

So I have spent the day experimenting. And win the cruise control at 62mph, if I add an extra half an hour onto my work commute down the M3 I can average...

10363421_1497920687089774_16850348561985

£160 a month fuel saving, for three hours of my time. That's almost as much as I get paid for a days work! So I'm very happy with that, the MPG is very good for what it is. That said, I am a very good Eco driver.

So, boring stuff out the way. Today is my first day off since getting the S, and it's about time I put my mark on it. Or more, got somebody else's off of it.

So, I iron-x'd it. Clayed it. Machine polished it with fast cut. Machine polished it with Autoglym intensive. Hand waxed it with Dark Angel and then sealed it.

Whoop.

This took a lot longer than I wanted it to.

But it was getting there.

10376272_1497920340423142_49528784386125

One side at a time.

10348216_1497920310423145_56520485427224

Eventually it started to look deep and blue, like minge should.

10410210_1497920137089829_68028432594605

Used up the last of the pad polishing the wheel faces.

10390497_1497920113756498_86438787942033

This was a fantastic idea.

10458720_1497919393756570_47873491907506

Then I decided, "do you know what has no place in 2014's modern society? ****ing purple window tints. That's what!"

10311783_1497918783756631_41651436877120

This was a hugely costly, time consuming and idiotic error.

What a pain in the arse.

10398068_1497918580423318_26341348935633

In the end I got my steamer out the hair dryer just wasn't doing it.

Then we were on a roll...no pun intended.

10447633_1497918550423321_46971170633077

Film was off, shame about the glue...

10437016_1497918523756657_60839315723411

So in the back I go with white spirit and a Stanley blade. Good job I don't really like the seats...

Luckily the back window came off easy enough, not...

10453125_1497918487089994_87002844309522

White spirit was my friend here. After about two hours..

10456196_1497918077090035_88917069916599

Working away...

10445464_1497918050423371_71894519428496

Then a I hoovered it, steam cleaned it steamed the seats and dried them with the heat gun to remove any sagging, dyed the carpets, stained the dash and sealed it all up.

Then I shaved the seats, which was fun.

10330295_1497913683757141_88826586340357

Made a huge difference!

So I took some pictures.

Now, I'm f**king knackered!

Take the shock absorbers off.

*minge*

God those stickers irritate me. Comrade = French/Russian. VAG = German.

WHAT.

It is looking damn fine though, would love to properly cut and polish the capper some time. Big ups on the fuel saving too - I manage an extra 10mpg by keeping it to 55/60. We're so boring.

That's why they are coming off, it annoys me so much.

Thanks for the lovely comments, I know it gets a bit boring after a while but hopefully this will be a nice quick project.

Increasing the MPG is immense, thank f**k for cruise control!

Feel free to come my way and I will happily machine polish the Capri.

You know what mate, in the next few months i'll be passing actually - may well take you up on that. I reckon it'd be pretty satisfying to do! Will let you know nearer the time, cheers :)

Most certainly.

I would go over it with a hair dryer on high heat at low speed. If that doesn't cut it step up to a heat gun on low.

Leather shrinks when it's hot, quite commonly used by mobile repair vans.

It can discolour it is you use too much heat.
