Tom Booth
R36 boot spoiler is on, looks great I recon, nice and subtle but sticks out enough. Going to the paint shop in a week to have a few scabs sorted and then I can put her pretty boots back on too! Spent all week hoovering the carpet and stripping the old interior ready for the new seats, tomorrows job is to wet vac the seats and carpet ready for fitting, looking foward to getting it looking good again! TOMTRIALS123
I think I just enjoy the fact that I still own it There will always come a time and a place where my priorities are different and I've got the space / time to do it justice and use it properly. Until then I'm happy knowing it's tucked up in a dry garage, ready to be taken out at any time if the opportunity did arise I

trials owns
Won't the talc be a bit harsh? Also in the same boat as you, fancy tracking the mr2 but don't want to get hit or push off by other faster, much more experience drivers Done this today, one whole pot into two vents! Needless too say his whole inside off his car was white, was priceless when it blew in his face! Serves the fanny right haha

isitafox
I had the same alloys as that white caddy on my mk1. Wish I'd never sold it though I've said that about almost every car I owned.
TrialsIsHard
Revs double what mine can! Haha, bed it's fun to nip about in. Shame you're not coming to tartydays! It's almost like one big car meet at the same time as one big ride hahaha. Thanks man! Really can't wait to finish it after seeing some tonight. They are built for different things though Jake Yeah I'd like to be going, not only because not riding for a year (at least) has caused me to put on at least 2 stone, but so I can see that Caddy. I've got exams all the way till the end of June, 5 weeks of pure joy!
Pete.M
Hooray for being skint because shiny new car parts. Hoping to have the car at the level I've always wanted it by the end of the year. The clutch+flywheel is the biggest cost yet to come, then the locking diff, and then maybe an intercooler. I should probably include tyres somewhere in that list.... CurtisRider
Played in a 924 turbo today, sooooooooo much fun! Came back totally buzzing from it and I wasn't even able to really push it. Either I need to sell my car and get a turbo, or I need to fit a turbo, either way I need a turbo. Turbo.

CurtisRider
Well if I don't buy an 80s turbo then the 1.8t is on the cards either way I'll be happy Had a great weekend, sunroof was removed and I got to enjoy the burble and pops from my exhaust, sounds so good! Ignoring the tattyness I am really happy with my car right now, just keeps feeling better and better Turbo 35 at Donington was great, over 60 924s. Some chaps in a racing 924 drove over from Sweden, I'm not sure how they could walk after that journey as I could onlt get the suspension to budge about 3mm... Tom Booth
I went to a 'prestige' car show today as a perk through work, it was a public show but I got VIP banded and shit. Asked a guy on the inchcape merc stand who painted the side on a display brand new AMG E63, his reply was 'our in house bodyshop sir, why'd you ask?' I replied 'no reason' and walked off. He twigged what I was getting at and looked abit shitty lolol. It was horrendous, it was black pearl which did it no favours anyway then looked like the paint had been thrown at it, the colour blend was terrible and the lacquer work was appalling. I was gobsmacked for a 100k car or whatever it was, be the last thing I bought at that show! Although a F40 fezza pulled in the show which got my attention! I got tonnes of pictures I'll upload soon.
Greetings
Brake pad question. Is there any upgrade I can perform on a daily driver to get more bite? This is for a 7 series bimmer so the pads need to be as user friendly as OEM pads. Brake pedal is nice and solid but requires a lot of pressure to lock the wheels up - too much in my opinion. Jolfa
Well if I don't buy an 80s turbo then the 1.8t is on the cards either way I'll be happy I was reading a build the other week, guy put an Audi S2 lump in a 944 (I forget which) now that would be worth doing! All major bolt on components were a straight fit too http://www.944-20v.nl/ get it done Edit - thats the non-turbo 20v, essentially the same engine though! (Mines got all 7a drivetrain bolted to it ) Edited May 18, 2014 by Jolfa

Thanks Ads. Mintex aren't that easy to get over here unfortunately, I've heard some good things about Textars, any experience?
Prawny Baby
I believe Textar are the main OE manufacturer for Porsche stuff. I ran Textar pads in my old porsche 996 brake setup and they seemed very good. No idea about different compounds though. Surely Mintex shouldn't be too hard to get hold of Alex? It could well be worth an e-mail to a company called Questmead in the UK. They own the mintex brand, so should be able to sort out anything, and surely shipping to Poland can't be that bad? Greetings
Too much of a fuss to be honest, looking for something available off the shelf. The daily driver is just something I get from A to B in and the less time I spend working on it or thinking about it, the better. I can't even be bothered to service it myself, the car is going in for a massive service this week. So I just need a pad model I can write down on a sheet of paper and collect the car a few days later with the pads installed. I know Mintex are not easily available which creates a problem. Textars were recommended to me for the daily driver by a few of my rallysprint friends who seem to think they wear out very quickly and create massive amounts of dust but have great bite when cold and good performance when warm. You also seem recommend them so I think I'll give them a shot especially as they're easily available. Plan to take the M5 out for a spin today and film an onboard with some proper audio and telemetry, might post something in the evening. Prawny Baby
Fair enough Alex. 9 times out of 10, you'd be amazed at the difference with a fresh set of OE discs and pads, and a new bleed with decent. it can make really shocking brakes into fantastic ones, simply due to age and condition of the standard parts.
