Pete.M
I did that recently. Didn't even consider that the leads could be on the wrong way because I was so certain. Ended up calling a mobile mechanic and was then severely embarrassed. :$

RobinJI
Shush, how the heck was I supposed to know? Haha, glad you got it sorted, especially with such an easy fix. I've done it my self and I've seen it done plenty of times. Luckily I now own 2 cars that's leads can't go on the wrong cylinders!
Azarathal
Had a crack at fitting my exhaust inc decat tonight but to no avail all the bolts are stuck on solid so im going to take it to quick fit of all places because it opens an hour before work and is a 5minute walk away. If they want a silly amount or can't do it I'll take a hacksaw to the bolts tomorrow evening.
forteh
Plusgas nothing more, soak the bolts, leave for a few hours and soak again - repeat till they come undone. Honestly, I've had plusgas release rusted bolts that haven't been touched for 30+ years
CurtisRider
Plus gas is a awesome, we use it on the farm equipment all the time
craigjames
It's awesome stuff, we use it at work, frees up bolts that have been submerged in salt water for the best part of ten years no problems.
AdamR28
Add a blowtorch for instant win... (and a small fireball, but that bit's quite fun).
Azarathal
I'm guessing plus gas is a lot better than the Halfords brand penetrant spray I've been using? Where would I get a can from say tonight after work gone 6:30? I've got a soldering iron with blowtorch tip so I'll give it a shot using that too

Skoze
the 'shitshitshitshitshitshitshitshiiiiiiiit' braking for the completely oblivious Range Rover at the end is what makes it. Edited April 17, 2014 by Skoze
CurtisRider
Met with some other porsche owners tonight, had a very good time getting to the meet as I was late therefore had a rather spirited drive there. Car was fantastic apart from my exhaust is reverberating loads, so I need to check that tomorrow. I still have a slight bit of lumpiness left to sort when travelling at low speeds, fairly sure it's the CVs or the gearbox as both have play in them and there's not much else that can cause it. Hopefully I'll score some free/cheap off some people in the club
Haz
'nuff about plus gas. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=10152073180127683 I've seen the Tacoma at Goodwood FoS a couple of times. It's still an animal in the dry. The course is not smooth at all, Nick Heidfeld set the record in his McLaren F1 car and they set it up so twitchy... SamKidney
This Civics turned into more of a restoration than anything else.. . Slowly but surely.
LukasMcNeal
Is there a reason Rx8s are so cheap? Do they need a lot of work to the rotor after a certain mileage etc?
CurtisRider
I think it's because people don't know how to take care of the engines and they end up with massive rebuild costs resulting in a fear of owning one due to high running costs. There's been some cool conversions with them using regular engines Out of interest Sam, why are you putting that much effort into a standard civic? Surely you could buy a better one for not much anyway?
SamKidney
This was free and has only cost me a cheap screen and this arch. The rest is mechanically sound and body wise is clean enough too. This will come out with its tax and test for less money in better condition than another for similar money. Learning curve too, first opportunity I've had to do something like this without doing so on a more expensive car so it doesn't matter much if it's not quite right. It's just a great cheap base for me to build my skill on. I'm in my first year as an apprentice and having this means I can experiment and delve into things I might not have a very good chance of otherwise at work. george_seamons
This pretty much sums up my trackday. 3 cars in the space of 3 corners. I love this car so much!
