Azarathal
Cheers Sam I'll have a look My mechanic may have f**ked up a cambelt change today, hesitates when pulling away as if I've got the clutch half out with minimal revs (had to rev to 5k to pull away at an uphill junction) and there's a very strong burning rubber smell

Ben Cox
Due to the fact the bike thread hasn't really woken up from winter hibernation and there seems to be some detailing fans "up in here". What would you guys recommend for cleaning brake calipers? I've just picked up a set and they have some seriously stubborn brake dust/crap that isn't budging. Any super awesome ideas? MadManMike
You should stopped quite further back and let him through really...
dann2707
What? Not at all, its my right of way and she should have stopped and let me through like every single person does and has has done after passing that road for 3 years everyday for Uni It's pretty obvious she should have stopped behind that Fiesta and let me through... Muel
Nah Dan, you should have stopped further back so she could get into that great big gap she went on once you reversed...Seems like total common sense to me, I do it all the time.
JDâ„¢
Yea, you should've noticed and left enough room for her to get in that gap so you didn't have to reverse. The whole world runs smoother with some forward thinking.
dann2707
She pulled out thinking she had enough time to make it. She didn't. I had to stop, she made me change speed and therefore she's in the wrong, simples!
MadManMike
Seriously pal, you were in the wrong. Right of way means nothing if she's already there. It's not like she entered the parked car area after you...
dann2707
Are you actually taking the piss?! Haha She should have stopped and let me through as the cars are on her side of the road surely? It's how i've been doing things for 5 years now and I haven't had any problems that were caused by me And she knew she was in the wrong as when I reversed she mouthed a massive SORRY and gave me a sorry wave! Greetings
She pulled out thinking she had enough time to make it. She didn't. I had to stop, she made me change speed and therefore she's in the wrong, simples! Part of being a good driver is thinking for other road users. dann2707
Yeah to be fair if i'd seen that gap in between the vectra and the micra I would have slowed down and let her in. I thought she was gunning it for the larger gap as it ALWAYS happen down this road. She still should have been patient and waited for the oncoming traffic to pass by her, she could clearly see my speed and know that it would make me slow down. I think some of you are just being awkward because TF personally
*gentlydoesit
It wasn't sorry it was sodoff I had my licence at 17, I'm now 36... I think you should have given way to be honest. Just because the law is on your side doesnt mean 'plough through', haha. How did you not see that situation and adjust your speed accordingly? Off the gas 5 seconds earlier and neither of you would have needed to stop.
MadManMike
Nobody is being difficult, just assessing the video... To be fair, when I watch it again, neither of you are really at fault - you both enter the single file bit almost at the same time. If I was you I'd have slowed down sooner and stopped in any of the three places that would have allowed decent flow, like the dude above said, ploughing through didn't help. dann2707
Eh, you expect me to pull over into one of the gaps on my right to allow the Audi to pass? I hope you worded that incorrectly!
