Been wanting something like this for a quite a while now and they seem to get good reviews. Ideally I would buy a 2 post lift but seeing as i'm rarely in my workshop these days I need something portable and compact when not used. I would make my own but I just don't have the time or inclination to bother these days :( and I know i'd make them stupidly overbuilt and too hefty to shift about haha

That looks awfully handy, I struggle to get normal ramps to fit under my car. (massive overhangs and stupidly placed exhaust)

How much are they?

If you do ever draw up some basic structures I'd be happy to do some stress analysis/optimisation on them using the old Solidworks.

I thought the S3 was the most pointless car ever?

The 8L is, the 8P is bloody epic.

Basic modifications will take it to 350bhp, and to be honest there won't be too much that Spunky will come across which will trouble it too much on a real world.

The same modifications just make an Edition really hard to drive unless you fit a diff, which is thousands.

this weekend has mostly consisted of rose joints, left hand threads and energy drinks:

Ordered but not delivered - Turbo elbow 3", down pipe 3", matching rear bumper, Apexi AVC-r.

I 'posting pictures of parts of the car, not the whole thing' news. I was was quite impressed with this this morning, although I think that's mainly because last time I got in it to go to the office it was properly dirty:

Winter came and it's gone now. Had a lot of fun though, we were out from 9pm to around 4am. Covered about 150 miles, 40 of which were on "special stages" in the woods. Too much snow unfortunately and we did find a lot of obstacles on our way. We had most of our fun coming back because the roads were completely empty (on a 60 mile journey we passed 3 cars a lorry and a police car going the opposite direction) and covered in a nice thin layer of snow which gave sufficient grip to have fun.

Sadly after coming back I came to the conclusion that I'm a shitty driver. Anyone can go fast on a dry surface, quite a few can do the same on a wet surface but I think ice and snow separate average drivers from the very good ones. Perhaps it's the short wheelbase of the car but I don't feel at all confident. I noticed that to fully utilize a 4x4 drive train you need to drive a lot quicker than you would in a FWD/RWD otherwise the car behaves like a FWD which is absolutely awful. Plus my steering rack is really slow and I frequently lose control of the front wheels, not knowing which direction they are pointing.

Also came across this epic video of a very talented racing driver playing around in an Evo:

It just makes me happy, I like it.

It actually makes me happy too, but I wouldn't go as far as you with the wax, hehe.

I used some cheap £5 'waterless car washing' stuff that is still beading a couple of months later.

These look cool but do they lock in any way incase the rams fail?

Fitted new sidelights, they're so bright. Others were horribly yellow before.

And gave the car a few coats of polish just to protect it over winter. Debadged the rear too.

Also stuck this on, even though I haven't actually fitted the hybrid yet. Just couldn't resist and it makes me want to fit it even sooner haha

Although my exhaust mani and dowtube gasket arrived so it's all coming closer to fitting it.

Got an absolute steal of a price for a custom remap for the hybrid from the Briskoda forum. Love that website as around 50% of owners in the Fabia section are hybrid owners which means i've got so much help with it.

Custom remap is going to cost £75
