Skoze
Latest update is now on Pistonheads; http://www.pistonheads.com/news/default.asp?storyId=28783 Currently weighing up engine, i'm stuck between a BOA and a 3.9/4.2 Rover, hard decisions are hard. Guess it'll all come down to ease of install and what Brentacre are happy to cover me for next year. ------------------ Talk of orange peel etc, does anyone have any tips for making paint, well, less shit? Mine is disgusting - it needs a full respray above all else but is there anything that could be beneficial and cheap/ easy in the mean time?
Sam T
I'd start out by polishing it by hand using polish with a bit of cut in it. Maybe even try a machine polish but its going at it with a blind eye if you don't know how much lacquer you've got to play with!
CurtisRider
I managed to get a decent finish with my polishing wheel on the Porsche, considering how horrific the paint is I'm actually amazed how well it came out
Danny
Good to know Danny, his postage is always next day and he is a good lad. Angelwax products are my new favorite. So it turned up yesterday at work, took it home, got out of car, dropped it on floor smashing the top off it. I managed to save about 3/4 of it and it had zero effect on my jeans which is nice. I gave it a super quick test in the dark on one wheel and it removed about half of the marks. Ill give it a proper go at the weekend. dann2707
Does anyone know of a vag car that uses a wider dia MAP sensor to mine (seat ibiza mk4)? So so close to finishing the intercooler but this is holding me back
Muel
Surely that can be made to fit? Just needs a little plate with 4 holes and a couple of gaskets to seal it?
dann2707
Just got off the phone to the company, there was supposed to be a MAP reducer in the kit depending on which map sensor I have but wasn't included. So ones being sent out tomorrow. ND tuning the company's called and the guy on the phone is so so helpful, compared to some other companies i've been speaking to, when I was looking for the intecooler kit. Even when I got money off the kit for being a forum member he was still absolutely sound. Hi Dan, I just called the supplier about this because this issue is a very odd one, it's why it put me off as it wasn't a problem I had heard of or dealt with before, its a strange one... Now, call Alan on He is expecting you ) I have already shown him the image and he has several ways to sort this out but he wants to check a few things out, as he has some suspicions on what could be the reason already. You will get this resolved in a quick time frame, in a professional way. I'm fully confident you will be up and running in no time with minimal stress, but if you do ever need to come back to me with any issues or questions, I am always standing by to help you. You know where we are. ) Just keep me posted. Thanks Neil
Pashley26
Does anyone know of a vag car that uses a wider dia MAP sensor to mine (seat ibiza mk4)? So so close to finishing the intercooler but this is holding me back You need a Forge map sensor adapter. Presses in place and takes it from 19mm up I believe. Entirely common, seen it 1000 times. You can see it in this image - Phone Phil at Millers Motor Services, tell him Jardo sent you. He has one on the shelf, I know this because I gave it to him a few months ago.https://m.facebook.com/MillersMotorService?id=175591079266063&_rdr /that. Didn't read the next post...sorry. Pashley26
Sorry to hear of your misfortune Danny. Make sure to agitate the fall out remover after it has dwelled, then rinse and re-apply fall out remover.
dann2707
Cheers dude, yep they didn't include it as above, thanks for that though Got a big post lots of pics, around 30, are people interested in seeing it being fitted or not?
dann2707
Got a like from harmer, that'll do! haha This is becoming such a classic position of my car in my drive now hahaha. Started removing the bumper bit by bit With the trims removed the rubbish, leaky, tiny smic can be seen The pipes are caked in oil, and leak like mad. I then removed the whole smic and pipework mmm tasty Pics of the bumper on the floor with the pipework The new smic having a little sleep in the cardboard box in the background Check out the size difference! I then started fitting the brackets to see where they go on the car, they are made to fit in where the radiator is held in place, no drilling required, woo! I then started removing the crash bar for fitment Brackets for the intercooler in place!! This is the bit of plastic I said I had to cut, it's basically a bit of trim. Nothing too important. And wala!! Crash bar back on! Now to start with the piping! It looked like it might be a pita to get all right but I just went onto the website where they show it all connected and I just followed that. Cinnamon bagel and coffee required! Made an absolute mess of the driveway though. Pic showing the pipework connected I used my seals from the old intercooler as they look to be in good condition but may fit new ones at a later date if required. Removing the old MAP sensor to go into the new pipe. I then had to leave it at that for the day

CurtisRider
Dan, at least get your tyres central on the bloody ramps! You are nearly as sketchy as Seamons
dann2707
I've always been taught to do it like that with these ramps, it catches the bumper otherwise due to the sticky outy bit at the top. Made that mistake and put them central a few weeks back and ripped the bumper off at the o/s. Had to bodge it back on.
