shamus
There was a 2.8 quattro up for sale nearby for 1000 recently but its vanished.

RobinJI
I think I'd be fighting Nick for that MX-5, or buying something silly and old that would be slow but a giggle. How I've spent this afternoon; can you tell what it is yet? (Not finished yet!) Edited May 19, 2013 by RobinJI
Pashley26
BBQ?
RobinJI
Ah shit, I thought it bore at least some resemblance to the front of a mini Back to the drawing board. But more seriously, you're right that it's not something that'll see the road, but it's not a bbq. The wheels not meant to be cut in half by the way, I just screwed up the very quick/messy render. King C
I spent a good few hours yesterday looking for some and all the ones you guys have posted have trumped anything I came up with haha. This was one of my favourites just because it's got a bit of cool/quirkiness to it: http://retrorides.proboards.com/thread/149903/volvo-360-drift-bristol-long I (probably like most on here) just don't have any where to keep a track car where I live now Edited May 19, 2013 by King C
Boumsong
Just for anyone who is mildly interested. Strip down for painting has started. New steering rack, rod ends, wishbones and coilovers have all been ordered. Also made a lower strut brace at work. More updates next week. No rush on this one.

Glad to see he's being honest with the advert. I was involved in bending it back after it's little shunt, in fact if you peak at page 12 of his build thread I'm in it quite a bit wielding my porta-power and helping him make a giant slide hammer, haha. It is a really good fun car.
haydon_peter
Weather this weekend was awesome and I rather enjoyed 2 days spent riding my DH bike. This post is relevant to the car thread because I got there in my practical diesel estate. I didn't think I would but I actually love the Passat. Robin - If I take the seat and front wheel out of the DH bike and put it in at an angle, once it is in I can get it to stand upside down along one side of the car and I could sleep along the other if I wanted to. This method should be really easy with the XC bike! I have also thought that it would be possible to compress the DH bikes forks with a ratchet strap to get the bike in easier. And annoyingly this weekend after only 300 miles the check brake pad warning light has come on the Passat, I knew they were old pads but they didn't look that low, DOH! haydon_peter
Get retrofit aero wiper blades. You need 21" and 19", just get the own brand ones from http://www.wiperblades.co.uk
AdamR28
we can't all have something with as much straight line speed as the mighty mx5 You're right, I mean 0-60 in about 9s, pretty much rips the tarmac up behind it.

haydon_peter
No. Get aero wiper blades. 1 second I'm trying to find them, their website is shit and just points you to the most expensive ones when you use the vehicle search.
MadManMike
OK cheers, I haven't bought them yet so no rush - just buying little bits I need done to get through MOT. One sidelight was gone and the wipers are pretty crap so I thought I'd change them.
haydon_peter
Their websites search function is shocking. It seems that the own brand ones are not available in the sizes you need but the below ones are: http://www.wiperblades.co.uk/lucas-lwdf19-retrofit-flat-windscreen-wiper-blade/ http://www.wiperblades.co.uk/lucas-lwdf21-retrofit-flat-windscreen-wiper-blade/ Or you could splash out and go for Bosch ones: http://www.wiperblades.co.uk/bosch-aerotwin-ar19u-wiper-blade/ http://www.wiperblades.co.uk/bosch-aerotwin-ar21u-wiper-blade/ Aero blades look nicer and they work better. It might be worth shopping around to see what you can find, you will have hook fit arms.
