Dan, I can't express how much more I like your car now! I really wasn't a fan of how much rear poke you had, and this makes it sit sooo much better. Nice one. Really nice looking A4 now. (not that it wasn't before, just that it's even better now.)

Cheers Robin! :) Yeah, I thought the poke before was too crazy, but I think it's sitting perfectly now! Also, if I ever get it on air, then I'm pretty certain I can get the arch to touch the rim. Baller! ;)

Dan, car's looking good man. With regards to photography, you just need to process it - those pics are fine, but foreground lighting needs bringing up to bring out the detail on the car.

Cheers Mike. Yeah I had a quick fiddle in Lightroom to make them look less-shit, but rushed it a bit too much! The foreground was fairly overexposed to begin with.

Duncan, don't you work at a car restoration place? Surely refurbing those wheels should be a doddle for you? Do rather like your MK2, got a soft spot for them!

I really need to have a drive in a 944 now, i'm getting a little obsessed with getting one and just need to know if I actually like it once i'm behind the wheel :( As usual with the threat of being sold, the Saab is working really well (even the lumping when changing gear has stopped...)...however the MOT is due soon so i'm sure some gremlins shall be revealed!

I'm also thinking of selling my T25 Doka due to being limited with time and having the Commer to finish, but I haven't got a clue what it is worth these days. Outer panels are shot as you can see, everything else is solid, full VW service history, 45k miles. What do you lot think it''ll fetch?

Unfortunately I no longer work there. I left just before Christmas. The wheels have only been rattle canned. Not a great job but not too bad. Doesn't look like no primer was used with this wheel. I'm tempted to paint them a sort of matt gold if I do actually pull my finger out and do something about them.

Seems to be a few guys on here with cupra r's. my golf r should be sold hopefully in the next 2 weeks and been looking at 04 ect cupras as a cheap run around for a bit untill I get some money together again after getting a property. Anyways what sort of issues should I look out for when going to view 1. Will have around 4k to spend on new motor.

Turns out one of the retaining bolts on my rear spring cup had worked loose and wriggled free. Knocked up a quick plate in the meantime while I find a matching plate so all is good in the world again.

Also off to Swindon on Tuesday evening to pick up a Mk4 Golf for Soph. 1.6 16v with crappy paintwork but otherwise solid and mechanically awesome. FSH, cambelt a thousand miles ago and masses of receipts/paperwork. Job's a good'un.

Diff sorted, changed ratio from 4.45 to 4.27. Took part in a competition called BMW Challenge which is part of a larger series called AB Cup, it's mostly held on airfields around the country and attracts drivers from all over the place, so if you want serious competition on an amateur level, this is the series to take part in. Managed to win the BMW Challenge Open class which has no restrictions other than BMW chassis and BMW engine, took 1st place overall in BMW Challenge and 3rd in AB Cup being beaten by a friend in an Impreza Type R and Evo. Annoyingly, I had the lead after 5 of 6 special stages and if I wasn't told that my lead was only by 0.5s, I wouldn't be so tense. Made 2 mistakes which were the only ones on that event and those cost me over 10 seconds.

First time on racing slicks and I'm astounded at the grip. Also the tyres lasted only this event, they're dead. So pretty expensive.

Rear view, really like this one because it seems to convey the speed much better, especially parts like 1:28.

Last day at home before I go back to the muff and the weather is perfect, no wind, shade on the drive, neighbours out, rotary time! Brilliant Black at its most brilliant. 20130424_132339_HDR_zps4a513093.jpg 20130424_132727_HDR_zps1417f884.jpg 20130424_132440_HDR_zps309547b0.jpg 20130424_131741_HDR_zps8ecbd0c7.jpg 20130424_113607_HDR_zps2890be79.jpg 20130424_104645_zps87613b90.jpg 20130424_104640_zps3109bb88.jpg 20130424_103623_zps2a5a8bd2.jpg I went over the leathers with a heat gun and shrunk them down so they are neater, pulled them out and fully wet vac and steam cleaned the carpets, did all the annoying cleaning things you never really bother to do. Just desperate to get some 18's and a new front bumper on it.
