The Car Thread

My 1.9tdi 105ps passat pulls well, bags of torque and I suppose you could say is kinda fun to drive. Even with 2 bikes on the roof,a boot full of gear and 9j+10j wheels on the back it gets atleast 55mpg on a run. Last summer I came back from the vw festival following my dad in the camper at 60-65mph, it managed 68mpg! That was verified by fuel reciepts too,not just the onboard computer. Mad amounts of space, epic comfort and as many gadgets as you want/don't want. I picked up my ex rep mobile with a few scuffs inside for mad money.

yea, killed another box Mike,

Diff bolts making a break for freedom, either come loose or one has snapped, not sure until it's stripped down.

Trans locked up on my at low speeds and released itself with a BANG, casing is cracked inside the bell housing and oil is full of metal particles.

RIP box #7. Long live box #8!

How much do they charge roughly?

For my car I was quoted £80 excluding VAT and carriage per front insert with adjustable rebound, and £55 per rear with adjustable bump and rebound.

I just want rears, so that beats getting the Bilsteins rebuilt for £80 each!

EDIT: I still need to get tracking done after lowering the car, but I have a feeling I'm just going to be told to buy new track rod ends since the current ones are so rusty. :(
