isitafox
Didn't really show much other than the front 3-5 cars from the other class and only showed top 8 cars at the finish from what I saw. Thought they'd at least have listed the competitors beforehand but I suppose a lot of people would only be interested in the sponsored frontrunners. AdamR28
Sounds about right... oh well. Maybe have to have a moan then, as it increased everyone's entry fee by £40 to have the TV coverage. We should get a DVD with it on in 2-3 weeks but was curious to find out - cheers man!
Duncy H
I watched the first race and recognised your car but as dave said they were to concerned about the leaders in the other class. When it did briefly go to you class's fight I found it much more interesting and close. Can remember you trying to take someone on the inside down the straight and shouting out "go on!" and my dad being puzzled why I was so into mx5 racing Also some of the drivers I thought were really bad? There was a point where they cut to a car cam and the commentator was trying to describe their way round the track and the line and this guy was missing apexs by about ten foot and running wide constantly. AdamR28
Haha - nice one. That will have been on Chris in the orange car I reckon...We are a growing series and I think there were at least 3 or 4 drivers who had never raced before, and one or two who'd never even driven a car on track before (other than doing their test) - so some of the guys may have been a bit slow / off line etc. They all had a great time though and learned a lot
AndrewEH1
I hope you have a nice big Tarty logo down the side of your car! haha Impressive considering you've only been doing racing for a short time, must be easy
AdamR28
Got plenty of big logos everywhere Haha, thanks - yeah it is easy Ended up being quicker (in lap time, he battered me with racecraft) than a chap who's been karting (and winning) at European and International level for the last 10 years so I was fairly happy with that! Pashley26
Ordered rear axle bushed for das Audi, and am on the hunt for a TT/S3/LCR steering rack. As well as a bigger turbo.
Skoze
World's best A3 getting better? Turns out we're dealing with the guy who owns Flux. Apparently insurance is "just a technicality, don't worry about it" so i'm picking up that black Capri on the 21st Somewhat excited. Muel
Will it be all turbo'd and shit?
Skoze
Haha, nah - it might get a V8 at some point in the future but it kinda kills what Capri's are all about when you start bolting spinny bits on - needs to be a big N/A! (or supercharged, maybe...) Ideally i want to do some engine work in the way of boring it out to 3.1, high lift cam and putting some triple webbers on a la dad's/ a proper x-pack would've had, but Essex V6's are so f**king expensive to tune for very little gain. It's already got a full Janspeed stainless system on it which is nice, though. I've also got some gas flowed mild road heads in the garage which i might fit, need a good going over though. Plan is; Full RS X-Pack body conversion with an RS Turbo wing on the back 13x7.5 ET19 RS 4 spokes with some good rubber (probably gonna run JBW ones as i can probably get them free/ cheap, and they're f**king HUGE. Stick out by a good inch or two on RS200 Escorts) Bilstein coilovers and shocks (conveniently a mate has a spare set, as you do...) and RS single leaf rear springs. Probably drop the lot by 2" or so. Anti-dive kit up front Paint it the brightest white i can find. If i can get it looking right and sounding right for now i'll be very very happy, can give it the performance to match down the line The suspension was the most important bit to the original i think, or it's the bit everyone remembers most anyway, so that's high on the to-do list.
Danny
Ordered rear axle bushed for das Audi, and am on the hunt for a TT/S3/LCR steering rack. As well as a bigger turbo. Just buy a LCR already. The suspension was the most important bit to the original i think, or it's the bit everyone remembers most anyway, so that's high on the to-do list. Everyone remembers? Is it some famous car you are making a replica of? Edit: After some googleing a RS3100 replica? http://www.rscapris.com/RS3100Info.html
Skoze
Sort of! Locally and within a few Ford circles it's pretty well known, was more referring to family/ family friends etc. Posted a couple of pages back (not sure if you saw it) i've won a comp with Pistonheads and am going to building a replica of my dad's x-pack in memory of him. Any time anyone i know mentions him, the capri's usually one of the first stories to come out so it'll be cool to have another one! I know where the original is, but it's not gonna be up for sale any time soon. It's also not gonna be sensible money When mine's built though, i might propose a swap with the owner as they will essentially be the same car... Gonna be building this; Funny you mention the RS3100 though, dad had a genuine one of those before the Mk3.

MadManMike
Was it Robin who offered me a door solenoid for my Leon? I think it was but can't remember exactly... This is just a wee reminder anyway, if you're heading back home any time soon

george_seamons
Just spent £400 on anti roll bars for the Leon...oops! I had to sort the front out, because it was creaking like mad, so I thought I may as well upgrade it while its out, and sell the old one. However, when I took it out, I found the plastic collars which hold the bushes are completely shot...all brittle and cracked; so obviously couldn't sell it Ended up with a brand new OEM mk4 Golf R32 23mm replacement, with Powerflex bushes. I had a Whiteline 24mm adjustable rear bar (which I have now sold) but obviously changing the front from 19mm to 23mm, the difference was now too little, which will make it understeery again; so I went for a Neuspeed 28mm adjustable rear. Hopefully they make enough of a difference to warrent the price!
AdamR28
The car will feel more pointy and responsive but it might actually have reduced grip...

DrDoom
Lol that's a thirsty thing, any engine work? What's the spec if so? Full stainless steel 2.5" exhaust with 4-2-1 mani, b-pipe delete and decat. Typhoon intake arm with K&N cone on an RBC intake manifold with 70mm throttle body. K-pro management, Tegiwa baffled sump. Pulls like a train (for a honda) and sounds pretty nice too!
