Theres plenty of room to get too the stud on the car (i hope so anyway) due to the turbo etc that has been taken of already, There was some loose bolts getting it off haha and what appeared to be 3 layers of gaskets?

Nasty crash from yesterday's comp captured on video :D It's the first clip.

video

There is a chap at work selling 3 Fiat 125 things like on this video, still on polish plates needs registering in uk. Is it worth buying one for £600?

Idea will be slam the to the floor, bolt on arches, wide wheels, maybe a bike engine (have a BMW bike engine in my garden, but seen hyabusa conversions)

I have only got night pics so no point in thrown them up unless anyone is interested.

bloody hell, that's impressive!!

In SkozeNewsâ„¢, i'm currently excitedly waiting for 9am tomorrow to see what Flux can do for me on this;

Genuine 3.0 S, it is mint as hell... Full history from the factory and not a spot of rust on it from what i've seen of the very very extensive set of photos he's sent me.

Awww. Yeah.

I don't know much about 125p's.

You can check the prices here, just divide it by 5 to get the price in GBP. That should give you an idea of the condition/price of the one you're thinking about.

If you're talking about a 126p (never heard of people putting a busa engine in a 125p) then Revolver used to have one or still does.

Think they are fiat 126s. Inspired driving form the guys, I've driven one in the dry and they are quite frankly horrible. Can't imagine how unstable they are in the ice. It's like a pendulum around the front wheels, and there is absolutely no communication as to what the car is doing underneath you. It just lets go

Maybe not them then, its the thing around 2:14 plate PWY4569.
What ever that thing is.
Cba to take a butchers at mog.

EDIT: its a 126P the one at works plate is BGR6715 not sure how polish plates work though.

Spent this morning playing with my mate's 126P trying to get it running again, it's got such little compression in one cylinder there's not enough power in the other for it to run for more than 5 seconds, poor little thing :(

Tell me about ti! Good ones are few and far between - i feel a little guilty about effectively destroying a pretty desirable model, but it's the perfect base for the build and one that's not going to disintegrate like most do.

We'll see what happens. I'm looking forward to the 250 mile drive home in it if it does work out, though B)

EDIT; that's where i'm hoping the situation's going to work in my favour - it's going to be a show car and Flux are the ones giving me the cash to buy it. It'd look pretty bad if they didn't help me out in any way to actually drive it :P

Gonna call 'em up 9am sharp tomorrow and speak to whoever's in charge, do some sweet talking.

Normally I'd be a bit against using such an original example to build a special, but there are other decent standard ones out there. Not like it's a 2.8i anyway. :P (Which I believe to be the best Capri to have in standard trim?)

Looks like a perfect base for the project mate, hope it all goes to plan. :)

Yeah man, part of me feels bad, but then again i want this to be utterly flawless and with that, it will be. Dad's was based on a 3.0 Ghia, so it's a pretty close base. I've also still got a set of stage 2 heads for an Essex V6 in the garage! I'm sure there'll be a group of people wanting to lynch me, but i think there's still just enough clean original ones to offset this.

Spoke to my uncle earlier, looks like i'm going to be using parts from the same guys dad did, so it's nice to be following the footsteps so close. Also learning all sorts of little bits and pieces about it which i didn't know before, so it's gonna be spot on.

I do, yeah - just a total fanny to sort out. I'm gonna chat to Paul from Pistonheads later and see if he's got any ideas - just can't see it going down well with them that there's gonna be nothing in the way of driving content for a year! Maybe when my renewal and no claims comes up it'll be considerably cheaper... We'll see.

Fun day at Donington on Saturday... Here's my vid from Race 2.

Started 4th in a bunch of 6 similarly-paced cars, again cocked up the start, then messed up in the race quite a lot and finished 7th.

I was chuffed with my pace (qualified on pole, and fastest lap in both races) but I was too inconsistent and made too many mistakes in the races, which was pretty diasppointing.

Video 'highlights' are as follows:

0:30 - Messing up the start by being too far back from the car ahead when the lights went out, then being too cautious throughout the first half of the lap.

1:05 - 3 abreast through Craner

2:33 - Tom closing the gap fairly forcefully ;)

3:25 - Good run on James, passing into the chicane with Rodders up my inside - left him room but didn't come through

3:58 - Let Rodders through the inside and expected him to disappear into the distance...

4:17 - But nearly ran into the back of him at Old Hairpin! (He was in a borrowed car)

5:49 - Good speed through Old Hairpin, carrying the speed to pass Tom up the inside at the next right hander

8:10 - Good run on Josh out of the chicane, easy pass

8:55 - Getting cosy with Chris

9.38 - Good exit from chicane again...

9.56 - But screwed up again and lost both the places, dammit!

10:20 - Pass Josh up the inside again

11:42 - Oversteer down Craner, then Sam getting twitchy through Old Hairpin

12:27 - Good run on Sam... But overcooked it in quite a big way :(

14:50 - One handed drift through Old Hairpin, allowing Tom to pass me

15:30 - Slipstreamed him to make the pass... but screwed up again

16:23 - Too hot into Old Hairpin, gave it up and went grass-tracking

17:15 - Alan outbraked himself into the last corner, sat in the run off before the chicane

After the race I realised one of my front pads was down to the metal - that may have had something to do with the lack of retardation towards the end of the race! (Racing Driver Excuse #457)

Did anyone see the TV footage? How was it?
