Pashley26
Works on the feeds from the coil packs, you tell it what rpm and when the cut in signals gets to the right RPM it lights up like a Christmas tree.
Prawny Baby
As jardo said really. Takes a feed from the coilpack switching wires, then you do a calibration at 3k rpm so it can work out how many cyls and ignition type, then you programme your set point, and the gap between the lights in this vase 7100rpm with 200rpm between lights, so the first blue comes on at 6500 and it counts up to the red one. Danny
Both have the same engine. LCR has FWD, S3 has Quattro. S3 is more of a high spec rep mobile (heated heated leather recaros, bose speakers etc), the LCR is the more sporty one (Brembos, quick rack etc etc). I just want something comfy, warm and respectable looking to mooch to work and back in. I got the mini for a fun thrash.
RobinJI
LCR seems like a more sensible choice then Danny, as you don't really need 4wd with standard power levels and you'll get better economy with no sacrifice in anything else. Plus 5 doors can be pretty handy, and the Leon seems to be the exception where it's not a bad thing looks wise, so again, advantage with no disadvantage. I'm an actual idiot. 100%. I took a car designed and made by German engineers, and tried to improve it by fitting an engine designed and made by accountants. At the moment I genuinely wish I'd fitted an 2.0 16v NA engine. The 1.8t gets a lot of praise, and it's an alright engine for tuning, but like all other modern crap, everything about it's made to a massive budget, with a definitely noticeable sacrifice in reliability as a result. Plus with the standard puny turbo you've got all the downside of a turbo engine (throttle responce etc) with the power of a naturally aspirated lump. Sorry all you guys who love them, I like them, but they need stand-alone management and completely new turbo set-up to be any good in my eyes, I'm less than impressed with mine so far. I want something old again (Disclaimer: This rant may have been just slightly brought on by having to limp my car home from my dads house miss-firing all over the place and generally driving like an unpredictable pile of wank, because of what I'm about 80% sure is a failed ignition amplifier. Sack of crap.)
TROYston
Ended up going to some meet in leics. ratio 50:50 saxos, corsas, all that bolloks to nice cars. ALTHOUGH!! I ended up flashing some traffic lights to get them to change, took the corner, and then could smell burning, looked down at the wheel and saw smoke, looked at the dash and the fog light light was on but dim wouldn't go off. Thus commenced the quickest battery disconnect in history. It would seem that the resistor(?) go hung and was basically cooking, speedy troy saved it i think though, the fogs work now, but might be problematic on a dark country lane or in fog because im not sure if i can trust them now :/. Pashley26
*somebody says something negative about Jardo* "Quick, like it just because he's a fanny even though I don't say anything myself." Duncy H
I liked it cause there is truth in it. I also don't say anything cause whenever I do it just gets ignored or no one cares. Seeing as I am here, what do you think to the lowdown meets at meadowhall retail park tom? I've never been to one but there is one on tonight and I'm tempted to go have a look. george_seamons
My suspension is creaking, and its REALLY annoying! Had it all apart, and greased all the spring platforms up and everything; but it still persists. Its either the arb bushes, or the new wishbone bushes I've put in. Its only the driver's side though. Either way, I'm close to driving it straight into a ditch.

Prawny Baby
Mine was squeaking a goodun the other day George! But of a hoon and it seemed to go away Most odd. I'm still chasing a serious knock on mine, almost everything has been replaced, yet the knock carries on as bold as day. No idea
Pashley26
The Civic wasn't for me. Didn't like it, was disappointing and not worthy of all the hype. I've got a Mk2 valver to look at tomorrow, which I would really like. Edited April 1, 2013 by Pashley26
george_seamons
Its not really a squeak, its more of a groan. Every time the suspension moves, but its not the suspension, because there's nothing loose or rubbing or binding. It sounds like a dry bush or something, but literally can't work out where its coming from. It sounds like its only on the drivers side though. I'm going to disconnect the drop links, just to see if its the arb. Other than that, EVERYTHING is new.

Tom Perkins
Blq's look insane on cc's! Do it! It's on fk highsports, front about an inch left with helpers out, rears just the 1 adjuster in. Rides nice to be honest for a low car, I'm mega impressed with them. My last question is does your car have the adjustable suspension as standard, sport mode normal mode and comfort. If so how did you go about deleting it without a warning light on all the time? Thanks dude
