george_seamons
Yup, 19mm under the shaft jobby. Help me find an R32 one
Luke Rainbird
Shall look around - if I find one mega cheap I'm having it though
george_seamons
Would probably be a bit much for yours. I only want one because I'm getting a bigger rear arb. I've got 19f/24r, I want 23f/28r. Just a 23mm on the front of yours would make it more understeery.
Luke Rainbird
Yeah, I plan on putting a rear on at some point for sure. Probably go 19f/21r or thereabouts I think, just to firm things up a little, as well as possibly a quicker LCR/S3 steering rack at a later date. All a little way off though really. LiamWood!
Bottom ball joint snapped pulling onto driveway. Resulting in mega camber: And a broken wing. Fail. All I wanted to do is wash it. Edited March 29, 2013 by LiamWood!
Duncy H
I snapped my handbrake cable today There's loads of different lengths of cables though and I can't decide which one it is
Sam T
Pointless post but gave my car another thorough clean this morning
haydon_peter
Went to look at my first potential replacement car today and it turned out to be a heap of shit and a waste of an afternoon. Ah well, I got to spend the afternoon with Mr Prawn and we got a pub lunch in Bournemouth
Danny
What was it ticcy?
Pashley26
LameC***tyRubbish. Sorry to hear it was a waste Tic, you will have much more hassle finding the same quality of LCR as you did your LC. It will be a tough search Edited March 29, 2013 by Pashley26
haydon_peter
http://www4.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201303275976591/ As soon as I saw it I knew I didn't want it. Wrecked front splitter, rear bumper needed a re-spray, the carpets were wet (although I couldn't tell if they had recently been cleaned or if it was the door seals), there was some after market alarm that made unlocking anything but the drivers door a pain, a few other scratches and marks around the paint work, all the badges were worn and the interior had seen better days. Even if I had got it for £3k I wouldn't have been happy with it!
MadManMike
They always look great in photos too... Shame it wasn't up to the job! In car related news, I'm dropping mine 40mm for the time being, will buy all the other stuff needed as and when good bargains come up - ARB, mounts etc... LiamWood!
Well after a couple of hours, I successfully replaced the snapped ball joint for a new one. Did it all at home too without a press. Stupidly easy for some reason, the hub came off piece of piss, maybe because it was off 5 months ago for the bottom ball joint to be changed. But all is well now. MadManMike
Just taxed the beast... £66 for 6 months Also, seen these on eBay: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SEAT-LEON-MK1-1999-2005-TINTED-SMOKED-BLACK-MIRROR-REAR-LIGHTS-SET-/251231861563?_trksid=p5197.m1992&_trkparms=aid%3D111000%26algo%3DREC.CURRENT%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D14%26meid%3D6592398157879042688%26pid%3D100015%26prg%3D1006%26rk%3D1%26sd%3D251231861563%26 How easy would it be to do that myself? As my car is dark, I'd quite like to make mine darker tinted without looking awful.
Luke Rainbird
They're awful. Don't even think about it. If you really, really, reeeeeeally want to then you should be able to pick up some tinting spray relatively easily. Sure there are dozens of tutorials around, but do it right else it'll look even shitter (if that's possible...!)
dann2707
Do them all red dude! Dark/black looks gash when its that dark imo
MadManMike
I didn't mean that dark, just tinted... That was the only example I could find. Not a fan of all red.
CurtisRider
It's easy to do yourself either with spray tint or vinyl wrap such as lamin-x
haydon_peter
What is wrong with the standard lights or are you planning on making your car look like a chaved up heap of shit?
trials owns
Yeah, Them rear light tints are wwaayyyy chavy
CurtisRider
Tinting just the clear part can look good sometimes, however Leons don't exactly have minging rear lights as as standard anyway so I wouldn't bother. It could be the last day the Saab runs tomorrow, glow plugs are being changed and there is a chance they will snap. I'm not spending anymore money on it to get it back to working order so it'll be new car time and au revoir to the Saab
RobinJI
I skim read that and thought you said it'd be 'a reservoir for the saab' which didn't seem like a very responsible or cost effective way of disposing of the car I'd agree that the lights would look a little gash, as said, Leon lights look fine. All red can look good on some cars, but I actually like the standard lights on Leons, they're far from ugly as they are. A very light tint just on the clear bit could look alright though. I'm tempted to do the Sciroccos lights all red when I get around to replacing them (reversing light lens is broken on one of them).
TROYston
Taking my helpers out my coil-overs tomorrow in prep for that meet in derby on Sunday. Also bidding on some rather interesting wheels so my BBS's will be for sale rather soon!
george_seamons
Mine are done as Robin suggested. I found the standard lights to be a bit "bright" when they weren't tinted. They almost looked white instead of silver, looked odd on a darkish coloured car: I would highly reccomend getting chrome indicator bulbs too if you can. Stops the orange colour bleeding out into the indicator as making the whole lense look orange.
