Pashley26
Nope, Ron is the same spec as Prawns car engine wise (just without rods) but with a standard K04 not a hybrid. But Ron is otherwise totally standard, 288mm brakes, standard wheels and suspension, Phil has literally thrown everything at the engine haba. george_seamons
...so not the same as Prawn's at all then So that's 3 f**ked R-Tech cars within the last few months. Maybe he's not so good after all! [/fishing]

Pete.M
Went to a "retroshite" meet today. Not all the cars were particularly old (including mine) but there were a few interesting ones. I've put the pictures in a spoiler tab: Edit: Anyone got an old cone filter lying around? Volvo needs more air Edited February 17, 2013 by Pete.M
TROYston
Decided to get to work on it yesterday and didnt really get as much as i would of liked done. Just spent the rest of the day from 3pm driving (day insurance) Pics: complete size of the whole, apart from this the underside is solid! been plated and sealed now . I Ended up having no sleep for 32 hours and it was the worst feeling i have ever felt! shacky, confused, really thirsty, energyless, tired, it took me a good minute or so to work out 27+5 last night. Pete.M
It would be ideal if it fits directly onto a 3" hose, which most do. I guess I'm looking for a relatively good make, but second hand to make it cheaper.
Pashley26
Honda S2000 cone filter, available from any auto factors for £14, 84mmOD and 80mmID, they're huge and are good enough for 600bhp turbo S2000's and offer better filtration than an oiled foam filter.
Prawny Baby
Had to share this, a chap on Northloop has just finished building it, and it's absolutely incredible. Super light mk1 Golf, with a 1.9 20vt running some form of Borg warner EFR turbo, 370bhp and around 800kg: In other news, I finished off my ext install: Big thanks to Jonny for the orange labels www.ubersticky.co.uk ! New sunstrip on the new windscreen too, how I hate installing these. argh. Robin popped round last night too, we went for a drive to test the car, had some coffee, was fun

CurtisRider
Eurgh, cars got glow plug problems again. They are are in solid and so I dont fancy snapping them trying to remove them I seem to remember reading that removing them when the engine is hot is the best plan as the head will have expanded? I'm installing XP mode on my laptop so I can use proper diagnostics (instead of Torque on my phone) to see if I can find out which plugs are dead
Prawny Baby
Is that climate control in your track car? It was once upon a time, now it is merely the controls for the windscreen demister and the heater on those cold 5am starts for trackdays far away! LiamWood!
I see, it's just the massive r-tech stickers that are covering 70% of the car. I know it's a track car but does it need them?

Not in any official capacity, but I promote them and the car is well known, and I don't pay anything for the mapping, so everyone is happy Niki calls it 'promotional work'
Skoze
Anyone going to the Retro Rides do at Brean Sands in March? Might make the trip down with some friends, would be cool to see the southwestern contingent if anyone's about.
RobinJI
I'll definitely be at Brean for the Retro Rides beach party, been to the last 4 or so and they're always awesome. There's a group of us who tend to convoy down from Bristol together. I'd urge anyone who can make it to come along, it's an awesome meet. (Preferably old or at least interesting cars, or just park at the other end of the beach.) Just found out the engine for the car we're developing at work's designs have been finalised and sent to the machinists (we're not developing the engine, but it's being made especially for our car). Can't wait to see the first one, 1.8 litre 300bhp V8 (And it's going in a ~500kg car!) Edited February 18, 2013 by RobinJI
Skoze
Ah nice one! Will be nice to finally say hello in person and chat shit over a beer. I think we're gonna head down saturday, camp, then come home sunday evening. Got me coming from Essex and a couple of my friends down from Peterborough, so it's gonna be a pretty large drive. Just worked out that between the three cars going they've a combined age of 180. Cool. Edited February 18, 2013 by Skoze
