JD™
I'd probably go lap belts personally, being as it's mainly for Fayes piece of mind... Oh, and for the record for everyone else in the thread, Bernard the Land Rover is a proper awesome little tool. Rapid and ridiculous for what it is

Matthew_Gibson
Fingers crossed I guess. £60 a month is still £720 a year - what car are you driving? 1998 VW polo 1.4 cl thats with my dad on, and no points
Jolfa
Ah, Apparently there making it even on price now, Dunno the date though. Would appear this happened some time ago, both my sisters and my mum are now paying as much or more than me, and my car is by far the juiciest
Tom Booth
It's supposedly coming in December 21st isn't it?
Pashley26
Matt; when I wrote off my 205 emergency servics came, however I paid for my own recovery and scrapping of the vehicle, never claimed on insurance and no damage was done to council property. I did however notify my insurance (NFU) and they asked me if I was submitting a claim, I said no I did not want to submit a claim but I was just making them aware as I believed it to be a legal requirement to notify your insurance of an accident. To say they weren't interested is an understatement, and when I told Admiral this year when I switched they didn't increase my premium above the online quote. So I presume as no costs have been costed to the insurer you do not need to notify them as it is not seen as an accident in the eyes of the law or insurance industry. Martin Reynolds
People complain about the difference in price for female drivers, but most of the criteria for insurance premium is based on precede, whether its gender, age, location, ect As soon as you start that, we'll all end up just having a massive fixed premium. Jolfa
It's supposedly coming in December 21st isn't it? If it is, then insurance companies are waaaayyyyyy ahead of you since the 3 aforementioned drivers insurance went up around the start of the year with no change to circumstances! Danny
Did prawns audi blow up on the dyno today? I saw a 'before' image and expected a slurry of posts about his day
Luke Rainbird
Haha, yeah seemed to be a before plot and more recently a tuner/dyno-guys chatting on Nick's facebook rather than a report yet. Here's hoping for a good ol' Prawny write up I've been calling around a few companies today to get an up to date idea of what it'd cost me to insure a Leon (yeah, still haven't pulled my finger out and done it due to having to pay insurance, tax and a load of other shite haha!) and having just spoken to Greenlight they're able to insure me fully comp for £432 including any mods up to 220bhp. Doesn't seem too shabby at all really, the joys of only requiring a limited mileage I suppose! With any luck next week's payday puts me in a position to buy.An old friend from school is looking into selling his LC at the mo too which could be a very convenient coincidence, so fingers crossed! Greetings
Yeah, it blows right?! Generally after the first couple of years it stops having much of an effect on your premium, but if you're caught speeding/being a dick or whatever you're deemed a higher risk (in some cases rightly so, others not so much...) so companies won't insure you unless you give them more of an incentive to do so (cash cash cash). It makes sense, but it's still a bitch Well it does make sense, but it also looks like the insurance companies are looking for any reason to bump your premium. If you drive a lot, there's no way you won't get any points unless you're properly anal. I've noticed how insurance companies over here are starting to pay attention to more and more factors. It's only a matter of time before they start behaving like the ones you have to deal with.
Luke Rainbird
Yeah, it's a bitch but that's exactly what they're doing in almost every case. Unfortunately it's extremely hard/expensive to really enjoy driving on a regular basis over here now. Fortunately a few of us live out in the sticks and have some lanes to play in though, so can get away with it a little more on occasion
Pashley26
Prawns car is now simply epic. I'll let him break the news, I think he wants to break the news himself. However I can say he has broken the record for the most powerful K04 hybrid with a finalized map that's been released on the public. Which is f**king exciting shit! He just sent me a video. Holy mother f**king shit balls that is mental. Edited November 20, 2012 by Pashley26

Greetings
How does a 350bhp FWD car feel like? I think I asked in here about a possible 4wd conversion but was told it's a bad idea, perhaps now is a good time?
Muel
Is that spinning up Nick, or just pulling clean? Either way, oh my.

I think I asked in here about a possible 4wd conversion but was told it's a bad idea, perhaps now is a good time? Literally no point, 4WD is shit. Especially the haldex rubbish that Audi chose to burden the A3's with; it's like trying to poo when you've just got out the shower or washing your car in the rain. I'll answer on behalf of Prawn for Muel (because I know Prawns gone to bed), that's spinning up pretty much all the time. The only time there is solid grip is for the first 200rpm in the first pull (3rd gear) and the first 800rpm in the second pull (4th gear).
