LukasMcNeal
Random question but how often do you have change the tires on your mx5? Like how many laps/races could you do?
AdamR28
Depends what tyres and how you drive really. For example the T1Rs on the car in the video above could be destroyed in one track day if you slid around a lot and overheated them, but the track tyres I have on my other set of wheels have done about 12 days / 1500 miles now and are still road legal in terms of tread (just). On the race car, a set of tyres lasts a full season, so 7 x 20 min qualifying sessions and 14 x 20 minute races. Providing you keep it smooth
Prawny Baby
Alex, I love the M3 as you know, it looks seriously quick, but surely something is wrong with that gearstick moving that much when you corner?
Greetings
Alex, I love the M3 as you know, it looks seriously quick, but surely something is wrong with that gearstick moving that much when you corner? Yeah it's pretty wobbly. The shifter has no play, it's all in the gearbox which is pretty much shot. Doesn't bother me too much, it's only a problem when you have to go into reverse. Compilation of various shots: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=roNL0YUgQMk And an overall compilation featuring among others a ridiculous combination of a VW Polo and Evo X, still in testing: Edited November 19, 2012 by Greetings

King C
Are Fiats quite big in Poland (not literally)? Also, any more info about the Polo?
Pete.M
Fun video that, your driving is impressive. The Volvo makes me very happy indeed, shame there wasn't more of it.
Greetings
Yeah that little SC was epic, always on 3 wheels. Not sure why? Badly set up? Are Fiats quite big in Poland (not literally)? Also, any more info about the Polo? Seicentos and Cinquecentos are used a lot for ammateur motorsport, I think what makes them more popular is that there are whole race series held for these specific cars in A or N group spec. 126p's are more of a blast from the past, still around but used by few. There's really no reason to use a 126p over a Cinquecento even in terms of expenses unless you really want a slow, short wheelbase RWD car. That white polo is sexy! What they done to it? evo engine? No info on the Polo in google. All I know is that it's still a prototype and that it's essentially an Evo drivetrain and suspension mated to a small chassis. 4wd, around 300bhp for now. No idea if they kept the torque splitting diffs or not, I guess they probably did. Fun video that, your driving is impressive. The Volvo makes me very happy indeed, shame there wasn't more of it. Cheers! No more vids of the Volvo but there is a nice pic Still, my favourite car of the past few events is and has been this little thing. So out of place but so cool, also seriously quick. Andeee
So next month is 3 years since i got convicted of 4 points for driving within due care and attention. Just looked up the points are valid for 3 years but have to stay on my license for an extra year. Wow time flys.. Can't wait to have them off so i can step up and get a higher performance car.. Savings is building ;-)
george_seamons
Sadly, its 5 years in terms of insurance
Pashley26
Which is why they ask you if you've had any accidents or claims in the last 5 years, and points or convictions in the last 5 years. Sorry champ

Simon
Thankfully if i ever return to the UK, my speeding conviction will be gone and i won't be charged double what i should be. Point's mean shit, convictions are the worst, and they last longer on license then normal points.
Andeee
I hate car insurance me..... Now i just feel the need to go out there and just go full on GTA style!
N.Wood
Wouldn't have been a problem if you'd been paying due care and attention though I guess... Play by the rules and you won't be punished.

Luke Rainbird
Yeah, but it's pretty much certain that they'll increase female premiums rather than decreasing ours
Andeee
Yeah i heard that too i just wish it would hurry up so females can be on the same level as us and so they know how it feels to be paying a overkill price. Finally something i can agree with the government on. EDIT: @Luke Rainbird What if they was to do it the other way round how amazing would that be... Ours go down... Theres goes up. Matthew_Gibson
I think there lowering our and raising there so to meet in the middle kinda of thing. We will never have it as low as there as we are ALL boy racers in there eyes! I'm just sticking with a 1400cc for a bit till it gets cheaper. Only paying £60 a month, didn't think that was too bad! Greetings
So hold on, you get some points for parking in the wrong place / speeding / whatever and you have to deal with the consequences for 5 years? Dear god.

Fingers crossed I guess. £60 a month is still £720 a year - what car are you driving? So hold on, you get some points for parking in the wrong place / speeding / whatever and you have to deal with the consequences for 5 years? Dear god. Yeah, it blows right?! Generally after the first couple of years it stops having much of an effect on your premium, but if you're caught speeding/being a dick or whatever you're deemed a higher risk (in some cases rightly so, others not so much...) so companies won't insure you unless you give them more of an incentive to do so (cash cash cash). It makes sense, but it's still a bitch
Skoze
Which is why they ask you if you've had any accidents or claims in the last 5 years, and points or convictions in the last 5 years. On that subject, when i come to renew my insurance - what should/ shouldn't i say? When I monged it i got a producer from Mr Policeman but squared up with the council myself to pay for it and absolutely no-one else was involved or even saw it happen. What to do...? Also, harnesses and seatbelts. Currently looking to fit something to the landy, it's got what's effectively a bench seat in the front at the moment with a pretty low backrest (probably around shoulder blade height). I'm going to be caging it and putting real seats in early next year, but can't decide what to do about safety in the mean time. I can get this kit; http://www.exmoortrimshop.com/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=flypage.tpl&product_id=4151&category_id=37&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=3 ...which is a way of fitting inertia reels as i have no door pillars, but the kit comes in at nearly £300 including the belts, to then replace it with another £200+ of harnesses when i put the cage in a few months down the line seems like a waste of money . I know poorly fitted harnesses are bad, but being skint as i am i'm just wondering if they'd really be that awful to have in for a few months of keeping the missus happy 'til they get fitted as nature intended. Bearing in mind it'll be driving round town and a few infrequent motorway trips to go home and see a few people. I've had no worries driving it with no seatbelts but Faye's really not keen. I'm just looking for some mild peace if mind for her/ something to keep people vaguely in the seat should it need it for the time being. Appreciate i could stick some lap belts in but they're utterly pointless in my book. What does TF reckon?
