Bucky
lol funny f**ker. just chuckled and vimto came out my nose. i put a standard diff back in my e36. its gay, i only drove it 100 miles on motorway from where i bought it 18months ago to the unit and welded it up the same day. i can now corner faster but, when i want it to drift it wont hold a nice slide, and when i dont want it to it just lets go and gets all squirmy. gayyyy. wish LSDs didnt cost so much.

Prawny Baby
So, some graphs! Everyone likes graphs, right? Old engine, 211k miles at the time, dyno'd at Badger 5 1 week after Niki mapped it: New engine, forged rods and new rings / shells, but otherwise still stock. low mileage block on this one. Gains on boost are 14bhp and 21lbft on exactly the same boost, changes made were a full 3'' turbo back exhaust (old system was 2.5''), and the WMI system with very small nozzle installed to keep things cool. the actuator is slightly stronger on the new setup, but due to how the ECU calculates load and duty cycle the boost curve is identical still. Feels brilliant to drive with the nice smooth delivery too
AdamR28
Feels brilliant to drive with the nice smooth delivery too Not surprised looking at that! Looks pretty much like a 'standard' engine curve, just everything doubled?! Gotta be happy with it?

AdamR28
Just noticed the torque and bhp don't cross anywhere near 5252rpm, how come Nick?
JDâ„¢
Just noticed the torque and bhp don't cross anywhere near 5252rpm, how come Nick? Isn't it because of the different scales up each side of the graph, or am I being stupid?
Prawny Baby
they do exactly if you look Different scales on the power / torque left and right. Horse power at 5252 is about 255-260bhp from the left hand scale, torque at 5252 is about 255-260 on the right hand scale I see what you mean though, just an odd method of displaying it. AdamR28
Scales... always forget to look at those :$ My brain always assumes they are the same, cos that's how it should be logically

Skoze
f**k graphs, bitches love pictures. This is how to rectify a write off in a weekend; Happy happy chappy. For anyone wondering what the other cars are, there's some shitty KIA, a similarly shitty Mitsubishi 4x4 thing, a 1.9tdi Golf donating it's heart to a mk1 Caddy, under the sheets are a mk1 Cortina, '69 Mustang Fastback, the ther land rover is a TDI Lightweight and the red caged Capri is halfway through it's conversion to a tuned 351 Cleveland that should be putting out over the 500bhp mark... Cool cars! Edited November 12, 2012 by Skoze
Pashley26
Straightened up my pipes. Fixed my MAP sensor in place properly, no pics of that. Sanded down and trimmed the inside of the new bumper down...It's difficult to comprehend just quite how much I've taken off if you've never seen the inside of an 8L bumper...But that's a f**k load. This is the mess it made - Which left me with this - Fitted it, and it looks gangster as f**k. Drilled some holes for my Audi-Sport plate holders...Courtesy of our very own Mr Seamons. Chipped the bumper refitting the grill...Boooo Went to see Prawns dad/Big Bad Dad. Did a quick instagram whilst having a cup of tea and lol'ing at retards on forums. Went and did some logging, and it's peak flow was 186g/s which is 232.5BHP which is healthy stage 2 figures...But my car is only stage 1 Car is much quicker now mid range, rather than a peak and then tailing off it seems to hold power for about 1500rpm more and it is much much smoother. Before it was super fast spool up and bang in your face, where as now it is much more progressive, a little bit more lag which balances out the revs a lot nicer. I knew all this anyway. All in all I am super happy. I MUCH prefer the pre-facelift bumper and grill, and I just need to spray the IC pipes black and I'm officially a hero. thinkdougie
Sweet must shift am about to ko4 my corsa vxr should see around 310bhp. I'd like to go for 400+bhp but its just so costly!
Tom Booth
That colours not a problem Paul. Can mix it you in basecoat.
greg1040
I did consider a garette turbo but as u say it just gets even more expensive with brakes LSD and the turbo kit is quite expensive in its own

Tom Booth
I'll have a gander tomorow what it costs us to mix. Don't think it'll be too expensive as its not a pearl.
RobinJI
New shifter in the Scirocco: I'm quite looking forward to driving this thing just for this, improving the controls means as much to me as the extra power, it should be a much nicer car to drive when it's done with any luck.
King C
Do you get any sideways movement with the front bracket like that? A drilled gusset would eliminate it if you did and could look really neat. Had a sneaky feeling there would be more pics on RR and I was right!
RobinJI
Nope, no movement in it at all, the rear mounts clamp it well enough that it can't rotate around them to move side to side at all, so the front bracket only has to hold it up. I did want to gusset it, but it's bolted on with studs in the shifter, so to remove it you have to drop it a fair bit within the mount, so there's no real space to gusset it Looks wise the car will have a full interior, only the top of it will be visible above the centre console, so I'm not so worried about that, but I do know what you mean.
