Pfft. I got 211 on that dyno from a 1.0L ;)

Seriously man that looks awesome, both the car and the curves! Top work on the DIY exhaust too, very easy to make a mess of that area but you did a mega job. You must be super chuffed!

Car is up and running!!

Had it mapped on Monday, sadly my exhaust is restricting it somewhat but it made 200bhp and 220lb-ft of torquey goodness.

It really is incredible to drive. Such a difference from the pinto engine I took out.

Are those Jeep headlights?

Looks awesome, I think I'm going to look at something like this once we've got a house - a proper weekend car that I can keep in the garage :)

They sure are. Or jeep style anyway. I think they look good and the actual light output is crazy good (standard ones were like candles also...) .

Cheers! I would absolutely recommend a 7 style car to anyone. So much fun!

Would you recommend DanST? Only discovered recently he’s very local and could be very handy in providing me a local tuning solution for customers cars if he knows his way round a Honda.

Mammoth task EP3 re-shell I’ve been on with is all but complete as of last night. Brakes to bleed, boost and AFR gauges to wire and install tonight and I can take it for a test drive and see just how useless 440whp is in a Civic.

Really getting quite busy now.
Lovely Civic EK4 VTI in for gearbox bearings and some wiring gremlins to sort: D3705B01-034E-4F72-B9A7-1620ECD25E7E.thumb.jpeg.4c209484519654636e0dfedb3b73b613.jpeg

And another stunner of a CRX VT for a shorter final drive and LSD fitting:

Couldn't recommend him enough. He's been so helpful during the build I definitely couldn't have done it without him. No idea if he has any experience with Hondas though....

sooo.... ~350 wheel k EG??? 30-76? 35-82? What's the rest of the setup/plan?

It’s a first gen GT3582R, a bit large and agricultural for what I need really. The car the kit came off was running around 430 at the wheels. Looking to drop down to a newer GTX3076R, power goal somewhere around 400whp as it’ll be on a standard engine.

Oem K20A2 with the only modification being a new headgasket and ARP headstud/nut kit.
Oem ratio gearbox with an M Factory plated LSD, Stage 5 paddle clutch, LA Fabrications sidewinder exhaust manifold and 3” exhaust from the turbo back. Bosch 1000cc injectors, GFB 48mm wastegate plumbed back into the down pipe.

Rest in peace, Red. 1992-2020

I'm gutted to announce that my car is now scrap. The engine was indeed totalled and a previous bodge on the rust means that it's way worse than first thought... after a thorough inspection by a specialist, it's like a cheese grater underneath (Unfortunately without any tasty cheddar to be had).

So, she's being broken.

I've had six years of fun and I'm absolutely gutted it's come to this... I was hoping for a quick fix on the engine and just rear sills sorting, maybe a bill of around a grand, worst case :(

It's not worth it. It's done 265k, it would be the 4th engine if I swapped it again and the cost to sort the rust is literally thousands...

You can get a pretty clean one for £2k, so there's just no point, other than attachment. I'm buying a house in the next few months, so it would be silly to spend loads on this or a new one. I'll probably just get another one for around a grand just to play with - maybe an MR2 for a change of scenery.

It's one of the requirements, yeah - 3 bed, garage and garden.

And yeah, once we have it, I plan to get something that needs storing in a garage. I really like the 7 actually, it's tempting!

What would a half decent one set me back?

Other cars on the list are S2000 and Boxster, but I'm open to other non-roofed options.
