Sam, don't be a c*nt all your life :w00t:

it's a nice car, it's shiney and red, and cute. she's a girl, of course she's excited.

Meh, maybe I missed something but last I read about it, Jardo had basically bullied her into selling her big fast car to him and getting the 500, and she wasn't very happy about it? Thought it was worthy of a dig anyway.

If I'm wrong, I apologise and hope she loves it. :P

No Sam, what you read was the invalid opinion of two people who don't actually know her. Using that uneducated opinion youself and others formed a vision of me some how wheeling and dealing my partner into buying a car for my own benefit. That's the only bullshit here. Apology accepted.

As Prawn says, she is a girl. However this is the girliest I have ever seen her be, proper giggly and being all gay about it. Which is a refreshing break from the soul-less scorpion woman I have lived with for the last 3 years. :)

First thing she said when she drove it was "Urgh how did I live with the Audi for so long!" Pretty much says it all.

When she came to pick it up we put it under a cool little cover -

And I had on of the guys from Fiat crouch behind it and then whip the cover off and all that jazz. :D

Yehhhh, that opinion came from Prawn, who (I seem to remember) is one of Lou's best mates, so didn't come across as an invalid opinion at all, it came across as your best mate openly criticising you for your actions.

Either way, glad she's happy with it. :)

Well, another DNF but at least this time I enjoyed myself. The stage finished on a side road where the only way to get back to the start line was to get off the track altogether and drive back on a dual caridge way. On the first two runs where everyone just takes notes and drives bumper to bumper, it was rather amusing to be getting onto a public road with heaps of Evos, STI's, M3's, GTR's, all around you and even the odd Clio Cups (or whatever they're called, the ones that come with a roll cage and sequential transmission as standard and are not road legal). I wish I had footage of a drag race we staged there with a few cars, unfortunately the GoPro ran out of memory a few minutes too early.

4:12 will cost me quite a lot, did severe damage the the front suspension.

Also all runs after the DNF were made with no anti roll bars so it was a bit wobbly inside...

Looks like great fun! What happened at 4:12? Does the course deliberately go off road so suddenly? Looks like a right car-killer :(

Is the car really understeery on turn in, or does it just have a slow steering rack? (I have no sound so can't listen to the tyres...)

Sort yourselves out, trying to argue with me over who knows my woman better? Pfft.

The only person who's wrong here is you for mentioning something as retarded as that.

I cleaned the Audi today and had our dent guy in work go over it quickly, didn't come up too bad.

in other news, volvo are swapping my c30 due to it being a never ending list of problems, for a 18 month newer, 15k less miles one with twin exhausts and remapped at a cost to me of 1000, score, offered me a straight swap for another one of same age but also the option of this car, so in total ive paid 9500 for a car that was uf for 11000 cant wait to pick it up

What a cont! Just did the thermostat on the Audi in the road outside my house, it got so bad it was open all the time and it never got above 60*. I only had a flank drive 10mm spanner...Literally the longest, hardest, most annoying job I've ever done. If I just had two tools I know I have at home I could have done it in half an hour.

All good now though, no leaks and up to 90* within a mile of driving. Welll gooood.

Changed the plugs too.

Dunno if anybody has used it before but I got a bottle of Meg's endurance tire gel the other day. That shit's AMAZING and it smells lush. Goes on really sticky, so I diluted a bottle down about 1/4 water and applied it with a sponge to all the plastics and then buffed it, it's gone in well and looks like a good dressing. I tried to see how durable it will be, I couldn't remove it with Demon Shine so it must be strong stuff. 10/10 if anybody wants to try a new plastics dressing.

Diluted down 1/4 it isn't a wet look dressing, just a light gloss.

Anybody know a decent place in Nottingham for secondhand tyres? I can't afford new ones right now and need a stop gap :( seen a few places about, but I'm worried where they get them from and what kind of abuse they have had

Tyre barn out towards Grantham do second and I think. Not quite Nottingham but not to far out.

It's funny you should say that, you're not the only one to have made the comment about understeer after seeing that vid. I didn't find it so at all, the rack is quick although probably nowhere near as quick as the one in your Caterham (or is it something else?). This run was done with no anti roll bars so it probably made things a bit worse, personally I find the steering feel and handling pretty much perfect.

Yeah the stage ends right after that little jump it is a bit of a car killer but you have a choice of how to get through that bit, jumping being the quickest. I'm thinking about getting rid of the D2 coilovers after this event, they're absolute shit. Thinking Bilstein B12 or maybe AST/Ohlins if I can find some spare cash lying around. I'm sure the latter are a lot better but not sure they're worth 3-4 times the price of B12's which are brilliant and as bombproof as shocks can be.

16x7.5, they're actually reps, but I couldn't care my self. Just seen what you mean about square (top of the one with the centre cap on?) I hope not, but they're being picked up in person by a mate later in the week, so I'll make sure he checks before handing the money over! There is some curbing on the lips, so it could just be the picture making it look bent, it's actually someone he knows, so I'm hoping they'll be alright. They're not all that much money, so even if I have to get one straightened it wouldn't be the end of the world.

Turbo lump would be nice, but I'm not sure about the amount of time/money I've got to do it. The barn my Scirocco's in's getting knocked down pretty soon, so I'm kind of in a hurry to get it back on the road so I don't end up paying loads in storage fees.

I thought they looked like 7.5 but the tires looked quite wide in the pic. I hope they're alright; I've never seen Azev reps though! £150?

I honestly think a 1.8t with a stage 1 map will be better on fuel than a 16V. So if it's daily running costs you're looking at I don't think it will make much difference. In the long run when you want to start making it go faster again the 1.8t will win.

Sucks about storage shizz, is the Mini still at home?

Yeah the Mini's at home in the garden, so that's fine. The 'roccos been at my dads house in a little extension on the end of the barn in their garden, he's converting the barn to a workshop/storage (it's listed, so he can't pull it right down and planning won't let it be accommodation), but the extension the Sciroccos in will be pulled down as it's not part of the listed structure, and the building work in the main bit means it can't go in there.

Not quite as cheep as £150, but still not loads, a good bit less than real Azev As in 4x100 go for even without tyres. I need tyres as the Scirocco's not got any wheels at all at the moment, it's sat on the Passats steels (with bald tires) but I had to take the brake calipers off as they won't fit under the 14s! I think 16's are almost a little big on Sciroccos, but if they're sufficiently low then it can really work. I'll be mounting the engine as high as I can to gain some clearance and run my suspension lower than it was before. The lower arm mounts are the next issue clearance wise, but they're pretty tough at least.
