Didn't properly check. Will do when I go through with it though. Came to bed at 1.30 this morning. Same again tonight as I get so much shit done. Last night I fitted the bigger turbo, new gaskets all around. Ran the intercooler pipework some more and fitted the coil pack bracket, riv nutted it as I don't like nuts and bolts.its coming together now, driveshafts are both fitted too.
SamKidney
Bagged myself a B series LSD box that I'm going to rob the diff out of to go in the K series box. One thing that let the car down massively was the lack of any sort of decent diff so this should be a nice stop gap until I can afford a plated diff. Going to test fit the teg wheels this weekend too to see what sort of offset I get and see if I can squeeze some bigger brakes under there. dann2707
Brembos fitted this afternoon along with the boost pipes. Shit is definitely getting very real very quickly! Aerocatches tomorrow along with other bits and bobs. Made my own pipe bead roller too put of vice grips, an m10 washer and an exhaust clamp and a welder. Worked a f**king treat. Probably already mentioned it.

MadManMike
I'm sure I've said this at least five times already, but every time I see progress on it I just think: BEAST. Good to see you doing it properly too, uprated brakes etc to go with the extra power. It'll be great to see it finished.
Pete.M
Swapped the Eunos for an Alfa 156 2.4jtd. Here's hoping it's not a terrible decision.

Thank you mate, I started it up earlier and my girlfriend who was on 2 floors above sent me this on whatsapp as its so loud. hahahah Okay, so slightly bigger update whilst waiting for tea to cook! Will start from the beginning as above was just a sort of finished pic. Started mocking up the boost pipes Brembos are fitted too, just running standard pads for now until payday then i'll upgrade Bumper on just to see what it looks like Then went for tea and to the comedy night with the mrs! Had to get in the middle of this (not literally sadly) Went to nandos for the first time with the girlfriend and nearly died trying this. Got used to it and doused my whole meal in it hahah, lovely stuff Today involved finishing the boost pipes and aerocatches so first things first, drive to the post office to collect some goodies Fitted the BOV adapter Then started on the pipework Fitted the lower pipe and protected it with some heat wrap just for fretting reasons Same with the top. Pikey? maybe. Protected? yesssssssssssssssssssss BOV fitted, just need some jubilees to sort it Slam panel fitted with a bit of modifying for the boost pipe. Just a bit of angle grinding action Then made a start with the aerocatches One done, was really easy. Took about 15 mins Both done Then the engine bay with the bonnet open  Needless to say i'm rather happy with the progress today and yesterday, still got a few little bits and bobs to do now like fit EPAS, sort out a proper dogbone, bleed brakes and clutch and sort out the accelerator pedal but it's all fairly easy stuff. Got a fire extinguisher to affix somewhere too. Cheers, hope everyones having a good weekend.

MadManMike
Had a great day today, feels good to finally just use the car, rather than worry about what needs doing. We went to an airfield which is about an hour and a half away from Brizzle, for an MX-5 meet. There was some other cool machinery there, too. Then we stopped half way home, at a little place called Mells. We went for a walk and spotted a cool waterfall... Lots of decent food, plenty of roof down miles and a good introduction to another group of '5 owners that I didn't know before today...

That would look gash, would cheapen the whole look of an otherwise immaculate conversion. On a par with fitting an anodised blue oil cap as a finishing touch.

If I was lighting up the tyres at curby with 170bhp god knows what this going to be like hahaha 7 hours ago, Haz said: Also - is that the final location for the ECU? Haha that's on my list to sort out. Admittedly one of the most annoying things to sort out as the ecu doesn't have any mounting holes. Something to have a think about though. 5 hours ago, Jolfa said: That would look gash, would cheapen the whole look of an otherwise immaculate conversion. Thanks for the comment though, are you feeling OK? You've liked a few of my posts recently and I'm not sure if you're building something up inside????

The hateful b*****d I got my donor engine had done exactly that. It's f**king disgusting, even more so given his car was bloody yellow... Suffice to say the standard cap will be immediately swapped across when the engine goes in the car for sure!
isitafox
My Auntie called up earlier in her new motor she picked up yesterday so went for a quick spin. 1.8 and only 78k on the clock, told her not to crash this one cause I want it!

Better than the colour the bottle will be in 6 months time, in my personal opinion.

Can't beat a spotlessly done conversion, and anything electrical in these sorts of jobs is way beyond my capabilities so it's impressive to read/look at and not something I've seen 100x before I'll get back to ripping it out of you when the jobs done and you go back to just cleaning it and coming up with crap ideas like bonnet vents because everything else is fine and you have an itch to scratch

TROYston
Ifffffffffffff i was to look at a mk1 MX5, what should i be looking out for? Might have a 1.6 hardtop lined up. I want a car to drop to the ground with some pretty wheels. EDIT: or mk2/mk2.5 Going to look at 3 of them tomorrow, all need light welding on the arches, and have had the chassis rails done or are fine.
