dann2707
I very rarely post car pics in here now with me moved out but today I came home and played cars in the form of doing a winter detail before the cold comes. Clayed glazed and waxed. Trimmed restored. Quite happy with the outcome for an 11 year old boy Photobucket has probably raped the quality but meh. No filters applied straight from my phone

Is this anything to do with new being slack? Apologies, been a busy weekend... Speaking of which, had an awesome day at Anglesey yesterday with @Mark W in the munter. I'm sure I'll subject you to the videos later...

I just nipped in that little bit for a few pics then bombed off. Was actually polishing in an actual bay in the corner ;)
Jolfa
Nip into a space next time, you'll attract less stick for parking like a mong ;)

Not at all Adam, I'd had other arrangements with other people that should have gone ahead but haven't.

In car news. I have a small electrical issue with the 1 Series, seems to be cold related. Most mornings and evenings now (but not all) I'll get 'put it up on the ramps' icon on the dash and the clock and mileage trip will reset. Clearly not the biggest issue in the world, but I'd like to sort it. Anyone had similar issues that could help point me in the right direction before I just give it to the garage? Very similar to what my focus is currently doing. The dash resets as you start it after its been sat a while and sometimes throws all sorts of warning messages. Google tells me its the battery voltage dipping too low as i start it (cold weather always highlights a failing battery). So its probably time for a new battery. I'm planing on picking one up tomorrow.
JD™
Cheers @Danny, that sounds logical. I think one I have at home for the Defender should do for some testing, so I'll give it a go tomorrow.
AdamR28
Yeah, agreed about the battery - if you have a multimeter and someone to help, get them to check the voltage as you are trying to start the car. It should read at least 9.5V, under that is nearly dead, under 9 is definitely toast.
CurtisRider
Ahh the tension of watching your car having its MOT, can't tell if the guy is miserable or just not impressed with the state of my Astra...
SamKidney
A quick yet successful half hours work tonight. I've had a mystery knocking that came and went on the N/S front, but there was no play in any of the suspension ball joints, links or bushes. Decided on changing my lower ball joint as they were presenting the most worry having seen the damage they do when they let go. The oem unit that had done 66k still feels good in fairness and probably would have gone on another 60k odd but I feel better now it's changed. Knock has disappeared so quest successful. Tempted to change both the new one and O/S front to either proper OEM Honda units over the factors copies or go for some extended ball joints. Mark W
Weird seeing Prawn chatting on FB to the guy with the VW Bora who was at Anglesey while we were there - everyone knows everyone...
MadManMike
Yeah, same thing with Mission Motorsport - I used to work with Shelley and she posted photos with Prawn not long ago... Odd!
CurtisRider
The guy had a grumpy face in general it seems, the car passed advisory on 2 rear bushes which i'll get ordered and replaced over Christmas. Decided to keep the car for a bit longer, it's mechanically sound it seems as i've replaced so much of it, so better the devil you know and all that.
