dann2707
Bet they're fun to drive. Like driving a saxo or a mini. Or a clio
Pashley26
I'm still a bit on the fence about the Abarth, I've always wanted one ever since I first started selling them back in 2010. And I'd always wanted a Competizione, well what I actually wanted was an Essessee with Koni FSD's, Monza exhaust and Interscope. In Record Grey. Today was not a day that helped with the decision, I went to Goodwood for Vee day in the MX-5. Roof down, shades on, loving it. I was supposed to take the truck, but it wouldn't start. It has been struggling to start for a while now, I worked out why later on in the day. The top of the fuel tank has rusted and got a hole in it, so the fuel tank is full of water...So I carried on in the MX-5.My phone died half way there so I was left with my little GoPro which to be honest, I'm not very good at taking photo's with...Before you look any further, I'm sorry the pictures are crap. I really haven't got a clue how to take photo's with my GoPro and have them central to the shot...It's a nice drive to Goodwood! Then on the way home I stopped off to see Prawn. Then I stopped off to see my dad and have another look at the truck. He was going out on his bike for the afternoon so I put some gaffa tape over his gimp as f**k mirrors so nobody saw my riding something so gay and then went down the pub on his Harley. Now I'm at home cuddling my cat and watching Jeremy Kyle. Edited October 4, 2015 by Pashley26
MadManMike
Just for you, JD, thanks for your tips on how to fit - once I'd rotated it, the roof went on easily!

MadManMike
Some new build houses have those tight archway type things that lead to rear parking.Sheryl managed to scrape it all up the side and do that woman thing of "if in doubt, flat out" rather than "I've started touching a wall, I'll stop and evaluate my options".

MadManMike
That is a sweet curve!Bet that's a damn smooth drive. The curve on my old Leon was pretty impressive... well, I say curve, I mean right angle.
george_seamons
Its confusing to drive. It doesn't feel "fast" as such, because it's so smooth. There's no massive punch of power, its a constant pull of the torque, and being 4wd, there's absolutely no drama whatsoever...very "squirty", shoot and point driving. If it's just you on the road, its very deceptive unless you look at the speedo and realise you're 100+ within a few seconds. However, if there are other cars on the road, the rate at which you reel them in is absolutely hilarious. Had a tussle with a VXR on the way to picking up a Chinese last night. Absolutely obliterated him, without even breaking a sweat. Need to up by game and find some better cars, lol.
Luke Rainbird
Sweet shit, sounds pretty much ideal (if a little risky for your licence!) I'm assuming that low speeds/from stationary is where you'd notice the biggest difference compared to something like your LCR, given the bigger displacement and 4wd? george_seamons
It's a totally different style compared to the Leon. The Leon was 348bhp/326fltbs in its last "proper" map (never got mapped with the TFSI turbo). That was a hell of a lot more of an aggressive delivery though, so it came in a bigger chunk of power, which in itself generated the obvious wheel spin of a front wheel drive car. Much more entertaining to drive (it tried to throw you off the road with torque steer at any point if you weren't paying attention).Standing starts are obviously far improved with the increased power and grip, although I have an extra 200kg because of the 4wd and leather interior etc, which you can really notice. The biggest increase is in the mid range though, the turbo will spool its nuts off from about 2000rpm, and pulls all the way round, so any gear you can floor it, and it pulls you through. Overtaking is just a case of planting your foot, no need to drop a gear.Great fun, and well worth the money

george_seamons
George, what car have you got? 2008 Audi S3 (2 litre TFSI)I'm seriously considering an S3 and yours seems rather fruit! How much and how many miles if you dont mind me asking? I bought it with 58,000 miles on it. Paid a little over the odds at £11,900...but it was/is MINT. The service history is absolutely exemplary, with more receipts than I have ever seen on a car under 60k, even down to wiper blades and tyres. The thing that really swung it was the last owner took it off Longlife servicing at 20k, and put it on a 5k service interval, so I know its been very well looked after, as a petrol turbo should be!Took a 7 hour train journey and a 5 hour drive home to get it, but was worth it for sure. Looked at a couple more locally, but they were dogs in comparison. They are great cars. Much nicer inside than the equivalent ED30 Golfs, and Leon Cupras...the insides on those feel really cheap and plasticy in comparison.
