dann2707
It shouldnt get heavier with age/wear? Yes they do, the pressure plate finger pivots wear, go dry and makes things harder to press.
bing
Touran. Because VAG. Nah. Zafira gsi. Because turbo nutter engine in a people carrier. Much smiles and grins from the kids at turbo noises
isitafox
If it's a Zafira it'll probably be a 1.6 or 1.8 because fuel expensive as it is hence why I sell current sharabang!
monkeyseemonkeydo
Surely for family runaround diesel is the way to go? I was thinking about a zafira recently but would really rather not go that route! Ford s-max is the nicest looking of the lot but seems more expensive although the facelift zafiras are better. isitafox
Our C-Max currently does about 34-35mpg if I really try hard. The 1.6 Zafira is supposed to give about 42mpg which considering the cost of petrol doesn't sound too bad to me, would still rather have a Touran though and that'd have to be a diesel. AdamR28
The 1.6 Zafira is supposed to give about 42mpg I doubt that. Is that a real-world figure?
isitafox
Nah most people seem to be getting around 37-
CurtisRider
Made my warm up regulator adjustable this morning, a significant difference has been made but it's still not quite right. I took apart an auxiliary air regulator yesterday but it seems as though it's not repairable so i'll source a secondhand one. Fitted a working vacuum advance, revs raise as i suck the vac pipe so that is sorted I think I may just take the plunge and buy 4 new injectors, the spray pattern is awful and after looking at some spares I don't think any extra cleaning will do much for them now
MadManMike
So, having spent the whole weekend working on it, the new brakes are not yet fitted. I need new rear callipers, as the ones that are on at the moment are totally seized. A little frustrating, to say the least... If anyone has some 1.6 mk1 rear callipers that have decent bleed nipples and not seized pistons, please let me know - I'll pay tonight!! Pashley26
How does Mike have SO MANY problems with cars, I literally cannot understand it
MadManMike
Upgrading brakes isn't a problem, it's an upgrade... And it's a 22 year old, £900 car - of course it'll need bits changing. Difference is, the VAG bullshit cost me close to a grand 30 miles after owning it - with this car I've done tons of upgrades and it's cost me less than £600. All new sound system, full service, new wheels, new tyres, all new brakes, CAS O-ring, cam cover gasket. I could have just kept topping the car up with oil and I could have just changed front discs and pads, but as I'm going to be taking it on track I want decent brakes on there. But yeah, my last car was a pain in the arse. And to directly answer you, Tom, no. Not at all.
Pete.M
It'll be great fun once you've got it sorted/kitted out. My car is strange. It used to leak oil, then it stopped by itself. Then it started leaking coolant, and now it's stopped. On the coolant front though, it seems the system isn't bleeding itself. I can hear the coolant rushing through the pipes for the heater when I rev the engine a bit. Anyone had experiences with that before? What's more worrying is the fact that I can't see the temperature gauge at night because none of my gauge lights work. Don't need the speedo as I just use a satnav, but I'll need to find the problem for the MOT next month.

JDâ„¢
I put a hole in the bottom of my car this weekend, which was nice. Got impatient waiting for the missus to get back so I could move her car off the flat bit of the drive, regretted that decision fairly rapid. At least I needed welding done before January anyway! Did get my old Schnitzer (copy) wheels ready for a refurb though, which I'll be doing over the coming weeks.

Pashley26
02m gearbox? How the f**k did you break one of those? There's only a slim possibility it is an 02M. 02J's are weaker than warmed up Mars bars. What engine, and how many gears and I'll tell you what gearbox.
