AndrewEH1
It's the phone Robin, I bloody hate it but it appears phone companies build their camera software Instagram ready... Buy a proper camera then!
Luke Rainbird
I see your clean black car and raise you a filthy one. Leon's been on farm duty for a few days: It has meant around 20 miles of lanes to play in though. Drive to work this morning: Dan Cox eat your heart out! Luke Rainbird
Bearing in mind it's not rained here in a couple of weeks I think the only way it'd end up with more on at the mo is if I drove it through a hedge - considering I'm currently scraping on the tufts of grass in the middle of the road I think I'll give that a miss for now
JDâ„¢
I'm hoping he meant your consumption Being as I'm not doing any journeys other than my lanes drive to and from the office, I might reset mine today and see what it averages out to by the end of the week. Assuming I get some clear runs, I reckon I can get a sub 10, just to give Dan a heart attack!
Luke Rainbird
Ah! 20 miles of lanes is followed by a load of dual carriageway unfortunately Perhaps we need a two-tailed TF consumption competition? Highest and lowest consumption over a 15 mile stretch of a given type of road - trouble being you'd need a trip computer and most aren't all that accurate (particularly given the number of modified cars on here!) AdamR28
Yeah you'd easily get sub 10 JD, what does it do on a motorway cruise, 18-20?Haha, that would be funny Luke.
JDâ„¢
It'll generally get up to around the 24-25 mark on a run, and I normally get an average of about 12, so with a little more of a concerted effort it shouldn't be too difficult... A comp would be funny, but like you say it's got so many variables already without digging into details!

JDâ„¢
BMW 540i, and an inefficient one at that!
AdamR28
Aah, thought it was an M5 for some reason... Still, not amazing consumption, good effort
JDâ„¢
It's got M-Sport stuff all over it, and then a Schnitzer kit on top of that, so it fools plenty into thinking it was once an M5. Unfortunately not though!

Prawny Baby
I got 88 miles around Donington to 52L back in Feb.I think that works out around 7.7mpg Better than I thought actually! I thought it was more like 6!

Jolfa
My old twin Golf used a full 5 litre jerry can of petrol in one quarter mile (and back down the runoff), I make that around 2.6 gallons to the mile (or .45mpg)... Top that Edited December 3, 2013 by Jolfa
AdamR28
Haha, that's daft. Can't have actually 'used' that fuel though, surely?!
Jolfa
I imagine some evaporated (as much as a lidless jerry can would evaporate in the space of 5 mins) some probably leaked a tad from the rear carbs, but the vast majority will have been used..! Muel
I was once in a mate's mum's Prius on the M1, and we managed to get that down to 22mpg, which I was rather impressed by. Simply load up with climbing gear and keep it on the top speed limiter thingy for 20 miles...
