Jake.
It's been 24 hours of heavy rain. No water in the car. I'd call that a success.
MadManMike
Problem I face is raising the additional funds for the car... In all honesty I shouldn't be buying it if I can't afford it, however it's a bargain and I want it. There must be a way!

Pete.M
Permanent and dangerous lack of funds due to car buying/modifying? You are now a true petrolhead. Sounds like a fun car! On which note, I'm attempting to buy a replacement engine with the money I don't have. This can only go well.
MadManMike
So this dude is mega sound and is letting me borrow the car over Christmas to see if I like it and want it. He's from my old town and I'm not going back 'til then. He's said if I like it I can take it in January That gives me enough time to save a little, then sell my car in the new year and fingers crossed I'll have enough cash to get it done!
Greetings
Here's some vids. It's mostly the same track over and over again but in a different config. And this time it was wet. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ECCz_Jc-bAY Mostly dry run: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G0EMUghaCE0 Mostly greasy run: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iGdzj6vJo5E Prawn if you read this and are looking for rain tyres, do yourself a favour and buy Hankook W51's (thisThey're incredible. So happy I decided to try them out despite the low price putting me off. Also, after 30km of use they show little wear which in rallysprint is unusual. They're said to work well in the wet in temperatures of up to 10C so probably a good tyre for the British winter. The size I use and is probably ok for you too is 210/650R17. They're around 230mm in width.

*gentlydoesit
I don't think the video does it justice to be fair. Yep a tripple rotar pp, na I might add . Did I mention I have an fc :)
Martin Reynolds
i always thought due to the design of the engine, they had issues with low compression ratios and therefore low power outputs, and the peak power output was at the top of the rev range, so you literally had to be screaming the nuts off it? *gentlydoesit
That's kinda true, fa and fb 12a's were like that, until the 6 port 13b fc's came out then max torque was mid range rpm. My turbo revs to 8500 (limited) and makes max torque around 68-6900. Still pulls a 0-60 in a shade under 6 sec
haydon_peter
The Passat is in for it's MOT today... I'm also getting them to give it a service and investigate/fix a coolant leak. It's started losing 1 litre of coolant every 1000 miles Fingers crossed!
